This model is a Facelift correct? I really don't trust the word ALL NEW....don't want to buy it only to see a REAL ALL NEW in 1+yrs time!

the chrome 'grin' below the front nose grille looks a bit out of place...looks like the car has a rather big grin. looks better with the modulo bodykit (bottom-right pic)

Managed to clear it to a nice guy at only $125, what a bargain as it should be below cost price. It is genuine and new. Sorry folks, no more matts for sale.

Issues with the Gearbox 5AT

Could you please help to check if any one is facing the following symptoms,

1. When you release the Parking break to drive (or to any other) while on a downhill or uphill, the gearbox jerks badly

2. When you try to put in the car on parking on the downhill, the whole car vibrates terribly. If the downhill is steeper the car will feels like trying to roll over the parking gear.

3. These symptoms are not there on level road.

While taking it to the KM and testing it out on the test car similar problem is with the test car as well. One of the Malaysian Odessy forum also reported the similar problem (I guess) http://www.myodyssey.com.my/forum/viewtopi...f=9&p=17493

Could it be due to the fact that the new engine was made for CVT but mated to a 5AT?

I had good experience with the car so far apart from the above, that I had taken the car for a drive to Phuket and back after the 1st service.

Thanks

If it also happen to the test car and documented elsewhere, the only remedy you can ask for is for them to feedback to their principal and hopefully they have an explanation for it or maybe u ve discover a major problem for mass recall (juz kidding).

Though I agree the small jerk is normal, but the jerk on the Odyssey is above normal. Other cars i tried on the same slops does not have this issue.. could be issue that the gearbox is unable to handle the inertia..

Hi guys , after the recall news, would you think it is still a good idea to get an Odyssey. although KM claim Odyssey is not affected, but i am afraid it might be a case of not discovered. Almost bought liao till i see the recal news now think twice.

Make sure that KM is committed to resolve the issue of gearboxes in Oddysey

what is the status for the gearbox recall issue?

what is the status for the gearbox recall issue?

KM (or Honda Principal) is still on a "go slow" approach on the gearbox issue. KM answer (as the service engineer mentioned), "Since it is affecting all the Odyssey cars, it may not be an issue, it is the way car is build and it is supposed to behave like that". mmmm I think Car companies could take that stance before recalling car with defective components.

I now feel that KM or Honda did not do a proper testing of the car with new engine and old type gearbox combination.

May be Honda is playing on the odds that, gearbox will function properly till the warranty is over. Then they can replace with a new type of gearbox by charging the customer. This is would be cheaper for Honda rather then recalling the gearbox.
