wish to maximize my pages before getting a new one.

60 pages over 5 years.

12 pages per yr is not enough for a frequent traveller.

I was still able to enter msia last week with 4 months expiry left.

this is contrary to what my friends told me that 6 months is needed.

anyone knows ?

3 months? 1 month?

thanks.

Pls becareful, singapore and malaysia custom have the right to stop you.

rule is rule. 6 months is needed in most countries

If you take the plane, most likely you cannot go thru the either one custom.

If caught at destination, you will be send baack immediately on your return ticket.

Anyway, the ticketing lady that issue you the ticket at the gate will probably be in to trouble for not checking your ticket because of your act.

Yes, the standard rule is 6 months. Get still get into M'sia with one that is 4 mths to it's expiry date doesn't neccessary means it's ok. It probably just means they decide to be generous.

Better renew. You might be at the mercy of the custom officers.

In the event if you need to go abroad urgently, you will have a load off your mind if you renew now.

Got nothing to do with customs officers, dude. It's immigration matter. Yeah, like what those who mentioned rightly before me, the standard rule is minimum 6 months validity. Those who travels overseas with a validity of less than 6 months is taking a big risk as the immigration in the host country reserves the right to send you back on your return ticket. For those who go north without a problem even though you may have less than 6 months, you may never know if they wanna get sticky and use it as a reason to "extort" some money from you. Anyway, for those with less than 6 months validity, sometimes the immigration officer exercises some discretion if he wants to let u enter depending also on how long you wanna stay there.
