Str2 Neutral Newbie September 2, 2008 Share September 2, 2008 (edited) Hi All, My power windows squeals when open/close after a rain shower. Anyone knows where to buy a tube or can of rubber grease ? (I cannot use WD40 , oil or normal grease as it will cause rubber to swell). I saw it somewhere and the rubber grease is red in color. I tried Dashboard cleaner (can use in rubber) but it last only for few days. Edited September 2, 2008 by Str2 ↡ Advertisement

Ken_leong 2nd Gear September 4, 2008 Share September 4, 2008 I got silicon grease. It greyish in colour and comes in a tube. It definitely won't cause rubber to swell. Let me know if you want to try it.
Octopus 3rd Gear September 6, 2008 Share September 6, 2008 In case cannot find silicon grease, can try the silicon spray instead which is in liquid form. They are easily available at alot of places, even supermarket like NTUC, Giants, Carrefor, etc. Good for auxiliary belts preventive maintenance too. Str2 Neutral Newbie September 9, 2008 Author Share September 9, 2008 Castrol can is a big can.I went to spare part shop and they told me silicon grease doesn't last and after 1-2 mths the sound is back. Some old bird mechanic asked me to use a candle and rub it on the rubber and window edge. I think I just spray some dashboard cleaner that is rubber-friendly and see how it goes. ↡ Advertisement
