Unique Solar Film - Comments

As mentioned by Riyute, the ICE range is from Unique so you'll have to contact them on the ICE films. Basic entry level for saloon is $800, then followed by $950, $1000 & $1200.

From my previous post on the 50% Johnson films are also from Unique, the Insulatir (whic is the highest grade package in its range, $999 for saloon) is roughly equivalent to the ICE's standard grade ($950 for saloon) comparing the specs. If anyone is considering the ICE standard package then might as well take my voucher which saves you a couple of hundreds of $$$, honest opinion not trying to hard sell. You can do your own comparisons [:)]

Can someone advise if our rear dark tinit of 25% VLT is still an issue in Malaysia?

hi, i recently used a top grade range of solar film from a 'branded' company but feel the heat rejection is pretty bad, pretty different from what the specs claim.

is there any way to ascertain if i've been ripped off by them giving me a lower grade film but charging me the premium grade?

Their solar film standards doesn't apply to SG cars so no problem. If you kiasu afraid get ripped off by corrupted police while you there, you could find the page on one of their websites stating that SG and Brunei cars do not apply and show them if you get pulled over hoping to get kopi money [:)] I seen it before but didn't bookmark that page.

I might be wrong but I think the 'bigger' companies should have a test kit where they have a heat bulb put over your windows on one side and then maybe some sort of a temperature gauge to read the temperature? Since you only just recently installed just go back to feedback to them and get them to check/show that the specs are accurate.

Looking to install solar film on my new ride by end Jan. Maybe I can consider Infratint or if there's any better recommendation. Hope there will be no bubbles after the installation. ^_^

Hi

I feel obligated to add some feedback since my own experience was really difference. For one, I went to Unique not so much for the properties of the film but rather the comments from one of the forum-mer about the air-conditioned place and the wifi etc.

First I must say that since my film was installed less than 2 hours ago, I shan't be commenting on the performance of the unique film. Instead, I am going to focus on the service (or rather lack of it). I was directed by the Unique hotline to its 6th storey branch at the Automobile Megamart at Ubi. Since the place was in a corner of the car-park, the first impression was the heat and the not so pleasant smell of exhaust. In fact the only person enjoying air-con was the installer, an obvious fact since he had my car air-conditioning at max the entire process. The installation of just a front windscreen, took an hour. Scenery was non existent and I was accompanied by the constant roaring of pimped up cars in the car park. The waiting area was restricted to a little plastic stool and to my surprise, there was no free wifi. What made things worst was the lack of a warranty card for the installation though the installer did personally guarantee the installation for the next 3 months. And to end what was a most memorable experience, the place neither accepted NETS nor Credit Cards.

In conclusion, this is not a place to bring the family. If cannot find a better offer, do lower your expectations

Hi

Glad you had your money's worth. I am quite sure that that's the reason for differing experience . By the way, paid $120 for the front windscreen (from the unique winter package).

Cheers

[thumbsdown]

Hi bro,

I am Sherine from Unique (Since 1995) Pte Ltd.

Thank you for the feedback and sorry for the inconvenience. I would like to clarify the inconveniences you experienced at one of our branches.

We have 3 branches for CS-II and solar film. Our 3016A and 3031A branches are for client cars while our AML branch is mainly intended for corporate cars, cars that are sent to us by companies. As the companies just leave their cars at our AML branch and collect them hours later, we do not send customers to that branch as there is no customer service and wifi for convenience there unlike our other branches. On the unfortunate day, bro JC wanted to have solar film applied to his car as soon as possible but our solar film technicians were working at the AML branch. It would waste a lot of time for them to come down to our 3016A branch after their installation so our customer service advised him to go to the AML branch to save time. For the credit card and NETS, we do not have NETS yet at any of our branches and on that day, the credit card machine at our AML branch ran out of paper and as it was a Saturday, we could not get a replacement from the bank. The problem has now been rectified.

About the aircon issue, we are sorry for this issue and it will not happen again.

We hope this has clarified the issue with us and this incident will not deter you from patronising us again.

Cheers

Sherine Chan :)

An update is necessary. Unique was quick to contact me on my feedback. Glad that they took pains to find out more and show concern about their level of service. Most local setups would not even bother. About the film itself, so far quite good. No noticeable bubbles etc. Much better than the one given by C&C dealership. Definitely impressed [thumbsup]
