Mustank Hypersonic September 25, 2008 Share September 25, 2008 solar film provides additional protection for passesngers if there is a crash, and the window (not windscreen) breaks, glass may shatter against the passengers if the solar film is strong enough, it may hold the impact (glass still borken) but if impact is so strong, the whole piece of solar film and glass may smash against the passenger....but by then, your last worry is this becuase the whole door would have cave in anyway

Splinter 2nd Gear February 15, 2009 Share February 15, 2009 The IRR for infratint is stated as 81%, does it mean it allows up to 81% of infrared radiation or blocks up to 81%? Comparing this to the 38.24% IRR of Unique. Not sure which one is better.
Sealant 1st Gear February 16, 2009 Share February 16, 2009 Hi Splinter, With so much VLT on our customised films,it is hard to get a high IRR for the price which we are offering for them. Also, the 38.24% of the film does not include the extra IRR you will get when we apply the film onto your window. The IRR we are quoting is only for the film itself. Hope that helps you. Cheers.
Splinter 2nd Gear February 16, 2009 Share February 16, 2009 Thanks Sealant. VLT is the amount of visible light penetration? Think you got yourself a customer. Will contact you soon.
Duncton Neutral Newbie March 3, 2009 Share March 3, 2009 Hi Sealant, Got my CS-II done yesterday. I am very satisfied with it, especially the level of service provided. Have given my feedback card. Anyway, can you explain somemore on the Unique Solar Film? And what do you mean when you say the IRR of 38.24% does not include the extra IRR we will get when you apply the film onto our window. And, the IRR you are quoting is only for the film itself.(?) Thanks.
Sealant 1st Gear March 5, 2009 Share March 5, 2009 Hi Duncton, The IRR of the film we quoted is just the film itself. When the film is applied onto a window, the IRR will increase because the window is also factory tinted so the total IRR will be higher than the one we quoted.Different cars have different window tinting so we can only quote the accurate film specs but not the total specs. Cheers, Sherine Chan
Greyice Neutral Newbie April 22, 2009 Share April 22, 2009 Hi Sealant, I did mine with you about a month back and quite please with the effort. However i notice a diff between Unique and some other brand. The other brands i enquired uses 1 whole piece of solar film on the front screen and then the sun shade is added onto this layer of solar film. However yours is a seperated and a gap between the sun shade and solar film is unavoidable. Not sure if that is your practise all along. If so, Any reason for not using 1 piece installation and follow by applying the sun shade. Shouldn't this method be better as there will be no gap between the sun shade and solar film? Riyute Neutral Newbie October 1, 2009 Share October 1, 2009 hi bro, i had used 2 brands of films on both my ride hence my humble feedback. 1. Unique ICE range. 2. V-Kool both are supposely the better grades as i drive alot hence timid me afraid of the sun. damn hot. against both the films, i personally felt that unique is better compared to v-kool. I kinda regretted using v-kool, as the heat rejection is not as good as unique (supposed to be on par). my strong advise is if that your looking for quality, unqiue is worth a to put.. i actually wanted to tear out v-kool to change to ICE as per my previous car, but both are not cheap and to tear my v-kool now is kinda heart pain. But i will tear it out once i m seriously very sick of v-kool. i feel tat for v-kool, your paying for brand more then quality. its only my humble opinon and i hope i did not offend anyone. anyone who wants to know more can pm me la.. direct telling here would not be so nice.. Catch_22 Neutral Newbie October 8, 2009 Share October 8, 2009 Yeah.. I would like to know too. I'll be collecting my Honda Freed in 2 weeks. I have rejected the solar film offered by my SE and was given a $70 off. I supposed it's a low quality type.. dunno what brand. Right know I'm looking for a good and reasonably priced solar film for my windscreen and two front door windows. What would be the damage like? ↡ Advertisement
