Zangetsu77 Clutched April 3, 2010 Share April 3, 2010 Heh, i've got my license already like 3 months back and hey I still dream about owning a GTR! / It looks just beautiful and attainable in the future! Anyone knows the actual FC of GTR in SG road condition? In stock condition, if you drive in a civilized fashion and spend more time on the highway, a S$120 tank of V-power can last you close to 450km. If you tune it, and drive in the same fashion, a S$120 tank of V-power will last you 300km.
Zangetsu77 Clutched April 3, 2010 Share April 3, 2010 GTR is alot cheaper now.. Brand new can be found between 220k to 230k for both basic & black edition. However, buying the car not that of an important factor, maintaining it is. Maintaining of the GTR is really at super car level as well. All the parts are expensive and engine oil change is alot more than our usual performance car. The gearbox, I was told that it cost mid 5 digit to replace. Regular servicing with a good tuner will cost you S$350 to S$400 every 5000 km for the GTR. Think the official importer is in a different league in terms of charging. Gearbox can be upgraded with after-market parts for as low as S$3,800, that is quite important because the GR6 is a double edged sword. Think there are a lot of myths about the GTR but it's really not too difficult to maintain.

Zangetsu77 Clutched May 4, 2010 Share May 4, 2010 Hi ... anyone know where can i get the older version of the skyline r34 ?? haha !! This new one is way to expensive.. intend to look for a 2nd hand r34. but couldn't find one in sgcarmart only the expire ad but they doesn't have any contact ... This one is hard to find... Anyone who owns one today is typically a collector... You can try and check out the local garages which are into tuning the GTRs, like Garage R, ST Powered and Maximus. I've seen the R34 twice at Garage R when i was there, but don't think it's for sale. Basically you have to do some networking, then one day when the owners want to let go, the Garage will call you. But it's really not cheap still 100+K for the car with the extended COE (whatever remains of it). And the state of tune is insane, like 1000HP, with less sophisticated electronics. So it's really a very brutal machine. Though theoretically, you might be able to get away with only paying for the maintenance or nothing, assuming you sell it after a few years to another enthusiast at the same price/higher price. Someone else posted on this forum a link to Eurospeed Auto (can check it out on sgcarmart) off-hand looks like 2x 1000HP R34s and 1 R33 for sale. The R34s are selling around S$130K w/o including the COE value, one has higher COE and one has a lower COE.
Ithunk 1st Gear May 4, 2010 Share May 4, 2010 actually wats the point of putting 1000hp if the drive train brakes transmission and everything else is not adjusted to fully utilise the power....this is the not so smart way of modding a vehicle....and i believe a car with less hp can out run a tuned 1000hp GTR.... If you do a 1000 HP mod, you will have to upgrade all the other parts, from transmission, brakes to suspension, and often the chassis has to be modified to increase the rigidity. That's why it's neither a light undertaking nor a cheap affair. And that's what you call tuning.

Don't know much about the R32 to R34, but i think they all have ATESSA, which is some RWD predominance under normal conditions with 4WD capability... Price wise i would think that the R34 will drop once the R36 is out (and hence making the R35 effectively the "older" model). R36 not due so soon though.
