Calp Neutral Newbie August 28, 2008 Share August 28, 2008 bro, sorry to hear all those problems you are having, You mentioned an overheating problem; how bad was that? Did the engine stall then? Was it before this idling issue or not? Do you have difficulty starting the engine, even occasionally? How is the engine coolant level; stable or constantly dropping to the extent that you need to top up now and then? Given the fact that they changed some other stuff and it didn't go away; rough idling (almost stalling) at standstill may be a sign of blown head gasket; I had that problem after my engine had to run without water for abt 15 mins. (repair costs NOT LESS than $1500 for my w124 E200) Maybe the CnC guys know that you are suffering from that and they are waiting until your warranty expires, so that they can chop you big time after that. Ask them to remove the spark plugs and check if there is any water in the spark plug slots. Water in the engine block is a no no... ↡ Advertisement

Threeleggedman 3rd Gear August 28, 2008 Author Share August 28, 2008 The answers to your qns 1. The overheating was less than 5mins. Could smell a burning smell and I stopped the car.. saw the coolant leaking.. the car didn't stall. 2. The idling issue was part of the package of the car. Reported the problem countless times already 3. I don't experience difficulty starting the engine.. Water Coolant level is stable.. The gasket was replaced by C&C after the overheating.. There's still rough idling
Pisces69 6th Gear August 30, 2008 Share August 30, 2008 Well since it turned out to b a "lemon" what else can he do? U expect him to keep driving a car in such bad condition? Sure die of stress very soon.
Pisces69 6th Gear August 30, 2008 Share August 30, 2008 At the 2nd trip or I mean the first replacement, I acherly popped my bonnet and the service guy in front of me to check my compressor. It was pretty new and okay. It is only after you run the compressor for a while and u do your usual engine check once in a week during the weekend that u spot something out of the blue. ===================== I wonder if they gave u a compressor they knew was spoilt & just hoped u wil lose your patience & simply go away. Cloudywind Neutral Newbie August 30, 2008 Share August 30, 2008 OMG!!! wat happened to ur aircon compressor?!? leaked? First, got very loud sound. Sent to leng kee CnC. They say aircon filter spoilt. Serviced the whole thing. Sound is still there. Went back 2nd time. This time they say compressor spoilt. Replaced the compressor. Drive for 2 months. One Sat am, saw something leaking underneath my car. Drove to my mechanic. He checked and found compressor leaking. Next Monday am, drove to CnC. Call for workshop manager. Found that compressor got hairline leakage. Replace a 3rd compressor. Took me a total of 2 days without my CS 3 cos they claimed need 2 days to replace the compressor. THAT is sooo seriosly screwedup!!

It cud have been something u said at the beginning that started all this nonsense. Best solution is to g another WS & hope they dont spread the ward to hantam u kuat kuat. If even I start to encounter my car giving more problems than usual & never seem to b problem free, I just change WS as I do know that many outside WS wil sabotage cars to make more $$$ from them.
