Threeleggedman 3rd Gear August 26, 2008 Share August 26, 2008 Hi all.. Need some feedback and advice for my ride.. It's registered in june 2007.. bought from C&C.. Since day 1, the engine has been vibratibg violently at idling rpmwhen the alternator cuts power,, sometimes to the extent of almoststalling Feedback to C&C and they keep adjusting the rpm which doesn't cure the problem Recently, they changed my throttle body as an improved version of the throttle came in from Japan. The vibrations were reduced but once in a while the vibrations can be quite strong but not as bad as before. One thing to note is my car's aircon is weak, not that cold on a sunny afternoon. I do know that Lancer's aircon is not that powerful but my passengers keep complaining it's weak. Is there anything i can do to further reduce the vibrations when at idling? C&C has checked and found the engine mountings and alternator to be ok and diagnosed the problem as a manufacturing defect. They claim other owners face the same issue. Thanks ↡ Advertisement
Kusje Supersonic August 26, 2008 Share August 26, 2008 Engineering defect means its their problem. Tell them to solve it and stop pushing it back to you. My EX's aircon seems perfectly fine(too cold sometimes actually) so you might want to tell them to take a look at that as well.
Modykoh 1st Gear August 26, 2008 Share August 26, 2008 bxxxxxxt la...where got other owners face the same means ok ? u need to push them harder...and complain to the mit in Japan on this..!
Silver_blade Turbocharged August 26, 2008 Share August 26, 2008 Since it's a manufacturing defect, then I guess there is nothing you can do. If I were you, I'll write to get them to rectify it...otherwise they buy the car back from you.
Lobangking88 Neutral Newbie August 26, 2008 Share August 26, 2008 Hi 3leggedman, For your Gear box issue, u really got to go down to the service centre again and leave it there till your are satisfied. For your aircon...hmm mit cars aircon quite powerful n cold lei. You might wish to check if there is a leak and hence not enough air con gas in the line...i used to have that issue when i drove a old van and they found out there was a leak. Im also a cs3 driver but manual....

Fabulous Neutral Newbie August 26, 2008 Share August 26, 2008 Bro... You are damn kind, if such case happen to me, I will bang table until I see their GM and will go all the way up till the problem is fixed.. if they cannot solve the problem, get their service record and go straight to CASE, if you can prove to CASE that you have purchase a problematic product and the supplier cannot solve the problem, you will probably win. Scali they give you another new car leh? Good luck with your complain and don't be so kind...

Tohto Hypersonic August 26, 2008 Share August 26, 2008 Since they said is manufacturing fault, then it is their resposiblity to solve the problem. You had to push them real hard. C & C is one of the worst AD around. Go and bang the table.

Pisces69 6th Gear August 26, 2008 Share August 26, 2008 For best results, print a big sticker with all the defects & say C n C cannot resolve these issues & u find it just unbearable to drive this piece of junk. Now place the sticker on the windscreen or prominent place on the car & park the car in front of C n C showroom every day, especially Sat & Sun & when they have a big promotion. If u free, stand beside the car & call the attention of your problems to the potential buyers entering the C n C showroom. I assure they wil fix your car in a day or replace with a shiny new car. Threeleggedman 3rd Gear August 27, 2008 Author Share August 27, 2008 Actually.. I told them many times already.. Went down to C&C personally on many occassions but the problem still persist.. Until they recommend a throttlebody change Even at servicing intervals, the problem was highlighted.. I told them to check the air-con and they said it's working fine.. Threeleggedman 3rd Gear August 27, 2008 Author Share August 27, 2008 Is that possible I've been visiting the workshop until they know me already What happens during a buy back?
Watwheels Supersonic August 27, 2008 Share August 27, 2008 Why not get a second opinion from another mechanic? Maybe some bros here who know mechanics familiar with your car to check it out. When confirm it's a certain problem, go back to your AD to "bang table". ↡ Advertisement
