Leo72 6th Gear August 23, 2008 Share August 23, 2008 well, i think one of your front tyre is on the white line. Agree that GR80 is bad in wet grip. I'm now on firehawk, so far so good.
Bulls_is_back 1st Gear August 23, 2008 Share August 23, 2008 If don't keep safe following distance ... esp in the wet, any tyre can also have the same result. How come no abs activation?

Jonbummer Neutral Newbie August 23, 2008 Share August 23, 2008 i think the impt thing is that it skid perhaps the tyres are already Old? did your tyres rotation? also there can be a possibility of slight oil spill on road, uneven brake pressure... thus try to E brake on a very deserted rd... very deserted. if it does skid again. good to check brakes, and prehaps a tyres change. although i'm on Hankook K415, the wet is more than satisfactory, i reckon GR80 is pretty good as well. just IMHO cheers

Kianbeng Clutched August 23, 2008 Share August 23, 2008 thats not quite true. Some tyres feels like metal on wet roads. It's a scary feeling. After those experiences (I had my fair share), I realised I rather go for those noisy but sticky tyres.

Fondue Neutral Newbie August 23, 2008 Share August 23, 2008 I had the same experience with my 2mth old GR-80. Wet grip is definitely not as good as the BR380.
Voodooman Supersonic August 23, 2008 Share August 23, 2008 I am on 225/50/17 GR80 for about 1 year, so far so good. I think the wet grip is acceptable for its class (ie. more comfort than performance).
Zippaboy 4th Gear August 23, 2008 Share August 23, 2008 is the GR80 really that bad? been driving quite aggressively in the wet with my stock B391, wet grip still reasonably good.
Fcw75 Hypersonic August 23, 2008 Share August 23, 2008 Your car can skipped? Anyway, GR-80 is not that bad lah. Perhaps there was some oil on the road? ↡ Advertisement
