Are you guys aware of this? If someone spot that you leave ur car engine idle, and u left ur car for some time, they can actually submit ur car plate, location etc to NEA and you can be fined... champion.

Tell that to those taxi drivers who left the engine running and went for lunch break, kopi break, etc. Just so they want to keep the cabin cool when they are back. And yet, we have to pay a fuel surcharge for that due to diesel price increase? [rolleyes]

Why they do it? They tell you their fuel is cheap. Come on lah! Cheap doesn't mean you have to burn it off just like that to maintain A/C and koon inside. Wash taxi sometime they just keep it idling.

What a waste of precious resources. If they don't idle the engine, confirm their running costs will be lowered by a lot.

Its poisonous for everyone. For all vehicles, idling is done with a leaner AFR. Lambda of at least 1.

So this makes the engine run hot and when exhausts are hot, NOx are easily formed. Diesel less NOx but still produce more NOx than normal cruising around.

NOx in the air can make smog. We created our own haze.

Yes! That's my point. And yet we have to pay a 30 cents fuel surcharge as they said diesel price increased. Look at how they are abusing it. [mad]
