I was amused when I watched the energy saving show with families fighting for the title of most energy saving home. Their utility bills in 4 room flat are so damn low even before contest. They have CRT TV, air-con, front loading washer and etc.

Not to mention about $20+, even $60 monthly bill is something that I can't fugure out how to achieve. My bill can go as high as $300 monthy.

So what could they have done right in the 1st place?

Regards,

in the olden days where the meter is inside your zinc-roof house compound area, just poke two wire before the meter, wahlah! free electricity!

water can tap from common corridor taps.

or maybe can mod the water/ electric meter, just use a remote to halt the meter!!like the goondu who mod his car fuel gauge [laugh]

Actually, I wonder whether the age of the meter play a part too. When I was living in a small terrace house with front and back yard with my family, 8 heads and the bill also rarely exceed $150. When I'm on my own with small family, my bill rarely below $200.

My cousin's house used to have a "faulty" slower running meter.

Bcoz the bill was so low, they had to turn on the aircon every week at least to move the meter up a bit, so they won't become suspicious.laugh.gif

Although I've heard some people use magnet to slow down the meter.lipsrsealed.gif

Some have 2 fridges. One of them even more super, have 4 fridges. In one episode, a family actually paying S$500+ monthly utility bill, but use alot of air-con even during daytime.

They are inviting PUB to inspect their meter.

If I got such low bill, I will keep it to myself man.

Maybe the meter spoilt!

PUB quite kiasu about meters, my usage drop quite a fair bit in recent months that warrant them to take meter readings every month!

I live with my mom and my dog in a 3-rm flat too. Seldom switch on the aircon, use the heater and washing machine whenever necessary. Switch on the fans and power on 2 laptops at night. Weekends lagi worse... tv on, laptops, fans and even aircon are switched on. My bill is $70+ too!!! Maybe my dog used AXN and helped paid his share [:p]
