Worn out in 18mths!

Hi all - need some advice here. My 17" tyres already worn-out in 18 months, and I don't even drive that much, maybe covered 24,000km on this set

 

I don't know much about tyres in terms of the different brands and models on the market. Would like to seek recommendations on brand/model based on following :

 

1. 215/55/R17 or 225/50/R17

2. Durable/long-wearing

2. Not bothered about noise (ears not sensitive haha)

3. Decent grip (I'm not aggressive driver)

4. Preferably made in Japan (or at least not made in China...)

5. Mid-range price (wanna save money but don't think can find cheap and good so will settle for mid-range)

 

Of course overall priority is safety.. Thanks

Buy tyres is juz like buying shoes. U must b comfortable wif it. Anyway, i am using 16" Michelin PP2 now. It is about 8k now. 4 me, it is good enuf. Mind u, i m an aggressive driver.

24K is way too little.

Check out ur suspension setting.

can you enlighten us

- what brand tires you using

- what are specific signs of wear

- is your driving habit one that takes alot out on your tyres

This set is Falken ST115.

(Previous set was GR80. That set lasted about 22 months )

 

Specific signs of wear... err... front left is abit faster than front right and front pair more worn than rear, but i do rotate them around 7K-8k km.. ..quite even i think...

 

only driving habit i can think of is that i tend to do rapid turns while manoeuvring / parking (i.e. slow speeds).. i use a steering knob

hey thanks... i didn't know treadwear rate is indicated... but the treadwear of 360 for my ST115 still CMI leh

i was on sumitomo previously . threadwear 500 !!! 225/55/17 cheap cheap . but look like bloody truck tyres.. buldging sidewalls. realtively quiet

Read some good feedback about KU31 (do a search).. seems good and cheap.. but dun have my size so i cannot try.. so suggest for u to consider lor..

got it with brand new 17 inch rims for less than 800.. but that was almost 2 years ago ...

Have used Prielli Pzeros and Michelin Pilot Sports but overall my pick is still Goodyear EagleF1s. value for money and good performance.

GY eagle F1... cheaper than many brands good grip and long lasting...

Bro I was on ST115 also but 15" and it lasted 46K / 2yrs. Same thing for me the left tires wore out more than the right. My left sides were down to the "botak warning line" whereas the right still had 5mm of thread or 30% according to the tire shop uncle.

 

Guess ur 24K is a tad too little man.

 

Currently using GR80 and loving it
