U seems getting very good at saboing me ah...

I have gotten the go ahead from APR for the group buy. The offer is $1,850 for 2 programs of your choice. This is subject to the vehicle having cruise control fitted as standard. The models applicable are as follows:

VW Passat 1.8T (3BG model a.k.a. B5.5 - 2002 - 2004)

Skoda Superb 1.8T (3U model - 2003 onwards)

Audi A4 1.8T (8E1 model a.k.a. B6 and B7 - 2003 - 2007)

Audi A6 1.8T (C5 and C6 - 2002 - 2007)

Audi TT 1.8T (8N0 model - 2002 - 2006)

VW MkV GTI 2.0T FSI (1K0 model - 2005 onwards)

VW Jetta 2.0T FSI (1K1 model - 2006 onwards)

VW Jetta GLI 2.0T FSI (1K1 model - 2007 onwards)

VW Passat 2.0T FSI (3C model - 2006 onwards)

VW EOS 2.0T FSI (1Q0 model - 2007 onwards)

Skoda Octavia RS 2.0T FSI (1Z0 model - 2007 onwards)

Audi A3 Sportback 2.0T FSI (8P model - 2006 onwards)

Audi A4 2.0T FSI (8E5 model - 2006 onwards)

Audi A6 2.0T FSI (C6 model - 2007 onwards)

Audi TT 2.0T FSI (2007 onwards)

Please note that this pricing might be more attractive to VW and Skoda owners as almost all Audis imported don't come with cruise control as standard. However, this can be retrofitted by Premium but there will be a cost involved and I don't know how much that is.

Anyway, with the above list of applicable models, I'm sure you'll be able to garner more than 5 in this group buy.

I can also work out a group buy price for the APR R1 diverter valve for all models using the 20-valve 1.8T engine. Normally this retails for $460 but if there are more than 5 in this group buy, I will offer it at $350.

hi mate

Just some points for intellectual discussion. You mentioned the supplier saying S$1,850 for 2-program switching. APR website lists the basic chipping (US$499) and FlipSwitch 2-programs (US$149), for a total of US$648, which translates to roughly less than S$900, excluding shipping. FlipSwitch only works for VAG cars with cruise control which many of us don't have.

Seems like if you choose 2-program option for S$1,850, it basically alternates between Stock and Chipped mode, no octane specific programming unlike some other competitors. APR does offer octane-specific settings using the cruise control, but that means you have to pay for more than 2-program option (perhaps 3-program at more costs?), while still requiring a cruise control, which you mentioned would be an additional cost.

I retrieved the info from their site:

PS - I have NO commercial link whatsoever to any of these companies. Just for intellectual curiosity.

Well so do u think is it good?

Becoz actually i can ask for other programmes like 95 and 98 octane maps with the cruise control.

Also the price is fix no matter how muchs i tried to reduced.

So beside APR what else is your recommendations.
