Nohnemwan 1st Gear August 4, 2008 Share August 4, 2008 Unless you are one of those people who NORMALLY work on Saturdays, National Day on a Saturday is not advantageous in extending your weekend. So logically since ND falls on Saturday this weekend, the increase in traffic should come from those people who would otherwise be working if there was no ND. So therefore will there really be a MASSIVE traffic jam like you say?

Testa_ross4 Clutched August 4, 2008 Author Share August 4, 2008 Besides JB, I am sure there would be those who be going Malacca, KL and Penang to others?

Testa_ross4 Clutched August 4, 2008 Author Share August 4, 2008 Many companies would declare Monday as the default off-in-lieu, or ppl would just apply leave.
Tkseah Turbocharged August 4, 2008 Share August 4, 2008 I think most companies with Sat as non working day will credit 1 day off-in-lieu for the employees.. cannot default to Monday cos it's still a working day and must have enough pple around.. Genie47 1st Gear August 5, 2008 Share August 5, 2008 Wise of you not to go. Reason being it falls on a Sat. Most companies don't work on that day so employees are offered off-in-lieu. Guess which day it will be spent? The Mon 11 Aug 08. Schools don't open on this day either. It is considered a school holiday by them and yes, the teachers also get this holiday. One big massive jam coming up from Fri to Mon.
Genie47 1st Gear August 5, 2008 Share August 5, 2008 A nice forecast is to check the ferry schedules to Bintan or Batam. Of course Sat and Sun are fully booked out but if Mon is fully booked out, you know hordes of people are heading out of this island for a little getaway and that includes going up north.
