I would like to seek views from fellow MCFers regards to inviting

overseas clients to Singapore for my wedding dinner in Sept.

Am sure they would fly over to attend. Mainly from SE Asia.

My concern are as follows:

- fly over just for one night dinner

- cannot afford the air tickets and accomodations

- doubt i have time to receive them on my actual day

However, I really wish they would join me in the celebration.

Because, I have close business relationship as well as friendship.

Kindly advise.

Thank you.

Usually airfare and accomodation is to be provided, or unless its such a close business relationship that they fly down on their own accord.

I guess you can send them the invite or even just call them, and see what they say. You will know from what they say if they are expecting accomodation and ticket.

If you cannot afford the airfare + accom, then might as well don't invite. Just send them a wedding momento or something to share your joy. [;)]

i also feel should provide their cost of coming and staying too.

despite having close relationship.

total 5 companies, with average 2 pax per co. meanwhile, can't afford. [:/]

I will have to put off this decision.

Thank you for your reply. [:)]

It depends on how you want to organise it or your budget.

You can organise a lunch instead of a dinner. In this way, you can save alot. Fly them in in the morning and off in the evening.

I personally will be organising my marriage and my bosses and some friends are from Europe so I have the same headache. [nod]

Thank you.

Why dun you calculate how much do you make off these people and set yourself a cap of say 10 to 15% as expenses, it can be offset against income tax.

By the way, depending on who are these people.............. you never know, maybe their Ang Pow will more than offset the costs!!!!!

Good Luck!

Turbocharged

You can inform them that you're getting married and would love their presence if their time and finances allow it. People may just pop over.

I did! And it was in Chicago for a friend whom I've never met but only chatted with over the internet.
