Neutral Newbie

hi! anyone here heard or tried this tire model from dunlop: SP Racer

i tried to google it and only found very little info: http://www.pricecheck.co.za/products/14146...unlop+SP+Racer/

i came across this tire in autobacs, and the salesperson quoted "should be around S$230/pc for 225/40/18". [shocked] the salesperson was pretty busy serving another customer, so, i did not really ask more since i was just looking around...

some of the details i remembered from the tire's side wall were... "Made in South Africa", "thread wear 280", "temperature A"

any feedback is much appreciated...

sizes? not sure. as i mentioned in my original thread, i did not ask the autobacs salesperson for more details as he was busy with another customer, and i was just looking around.

maybe you could call autobacs to check for sizes that it brings in.

Bros,

I've replace my stock tyre with the dunlop SP racer 15 inch. Please note that for this tyre, it don't have 16 inch version, i don't know why, so i choose the 15 inch tyre as 17 inch is too fierce for my humble jap car :)

I've heard people complaining (including me)it to be bouncy and noisy, but i like the looks and stability, if you don't mind about the noise and bouncy ride then it should be fine. I've do the installation at city tyre(open till midnight), near lavender foodcourt. Hope it helps:)

It had been 2 years of this post and no one did a review of SP Racer.

I would like to present to you my review of 225/40/18 on Mazda 6 usage about 5,000km.

Dry Grip: It is too bouncy and I give it to 3.8/5.00 due to the price paid, noisy level.

Wet Grip: 3.8/5.00. Semi Slicks pattern. But cuts thru puddles with ease.

Wear: I used it for 5,000km and looks like new to me.

Comfort: 3.8/5.00 due to the loud noise and bouncy ride.

Buy again: NEVER.

I guess that I would have to bear with it as it is still quite new.

i dont think most of us here need this tyre , unless you are going for track or very aggressive driving style.

and must prepare to buy a Very good Ear Plug.

$230/pc for 18" ain't expensive IMHO. might consider for track usage.

yes agreed is not ex for Track use only with that kind of Price

do remember to put this tyre on rim that for track used only

switching tyre in and out is no good for tyre
