Genie47 1st Gear July 19, 2008 Share July 19, 2008 I like this guy! He does not need to say much. No butt dyno or real dyno but what he provides screws every product reviewed! SNAKE OIL!
Kelpie 2nd Gear July 19, 2008 Share July 19, 2008 So what is he trying to conclude here? SO and VS really got use or not apart from saying cheap components selling at high price? Regards,
Genie47 1st Gear July 19, 2008 Share July 19, 2008 Whether it works or not, it is marginal to say the least because of the astronomical cost. Pure profiteering from stuff you can get from SLT.
Kb27 Supersonic July 19, 2008 Share July 19, 2008 I open one VS myself and traced the circuit. The guy is right. They are just capacitors however you twist the story or circuits. Capacitors are just noise filters at its best. At least for those who diy, they don't feel the pain when it doesn't do much. It seems VS is an easy money spinner, so expect more "new" products on the market.

Kelpie 2nd Gear July 19, 2008 Share July 19, 2008 Jeez...can't believe I was actually thinking of getting one of those VS... 1. I've already stopped buying snakeoil, I think the best option is to get the car with the most bhp that your money can buy you. Even the supposedly make most sense aftermarket mechanical mod like exhaust can only give a few bhp increase. 2. Want to drive the car for 10 good years? best to stiffen up your platform and provide extra cooling to the car essential components. Regards,
Apollo 1st Gear July 20, 2008 Share July 20, 2008 it should work somehow esp when u r raising the input voltage up by 0.5V to 1V to the spark and tat is guud for better sparking but in the long run wat it does to the cylic lifespan of the ignition coil is smthg not further investigated. in short u cannot hv ur cake and eat it. Garlic 1st Gear July 20, 2008 Share July 20, 2008 Remembered this was this product which raised voltage to 16V and it caused many problems, pretty big hoo-haa then.
Kb27 Supersonic July 20, 2008 Share July 20, 2008 Simply boosting voltage to 16V is not always a good thing. There are cheap circuits called voltage doubler, which would give you 24Vdc. Or you could just add a 6Vdc or 12Vdc battery in series to get more voltage. People are just doing things without thinking or sound engineering knowledge. ↡ Advertisement
