Unless you have a good off-air antenna with good reception, you'll have to get the mio-TV or wait for StarHub to transmit HD5 on their HDTV settop box. Those antenna socket from your home unit will not be able to get any HD5 channels.

Haiz, I've been checking everyday channel 300 on my SH HD box... still not up yet. Cross my finger that they will be up before Olympics

HD5 on Starhub HD box will be available on July 28th; this was reported in the papers recently.

Not Necessary. But you will have to buy their HD settop box which is on offer for now at 48.50 and 12 month contract and monthly subscription must not be less than 34.50 or something around there. It will come with 3 months of free HD pack which comes with NGeo HD and Disovery HD which I find the content quite dissappointing as they are mostly repeating programs. I guess there are still not that many HD dcumentaries. Once the 3 months is over, you need not sign up the HD package.

BTW, to those of you who didn't know. You can ask for free 6 months upgrade to basic plus channels on those basic packages you currently subscribed. I find the English Entertainment pack (where Star World and AXN channel is) basic plus channels quite nice. They are Sci-Fi, Universal, AXN Beyond and Fox Crime. Can watch lots of nostalgic shows like X-Files, Battlestar Galactica, Xena, etc....
