I am driving an OPC 1.5L car. Recently government announced that road tax will be cut 15% due to shift in emphasis towards ERP. My yearly road tax used to be $74. Now after rebates I am not supposed to pay anything. However, stated in LTA website, the yearly OPC is subjected to minimum $50. Therefore my savings on road tax is only $24 and I have to pay more ERPs at Orchard road, Singapore river line and CTE. [furious] I am feeling so frustrated with LTA. Anyone else share the same feeling as me? I am now considering to upgrade to OPC 1.8L. Nice car [thumbsup]

maybe suggest u to get an normal plate then more discount then u will not complian bro..

Eg.

A condo which was priced at $900K is now selling for $800K - lowered:100K

A flat which was priced at $350K is now going for $310K - lowered:40K

By absolute PRICE: Flat still cheaper.

By AMOUNT saved: Condo best deal

By PERCENTAGE saved: Condo <10%, Flat>10%, flat saves more...

Mistake in illustration, corrected example should be:

A condo which was priced at $1mil is now selling for $900K - lowered:100K

A flat which was priced at $350K is now going for $310K - lowered:40K

By absolute PRICE: Flat still cheaper.

By AMOUNT saved: Condo best deal

By PERCENTAGE saved: Condo =10%, Flat>10%, flat saves more...

If you want to enjoy maximum tax rebate, like most people do, go buy a normal car.

You are NOT the target audience that the garmen wants to help lessen the burden of car ownership!

Why?

Simple: You already saved $17K and pay a miserable $50/yr road tax ..... and you still dare to comprain?

The problem is you .... penny-pinching, kiasu and everything also want ..... but pay only don want.

This has nothing to do with the garmen, OK!

Get a life man.
