nice shoes.

but i don't like those type of laces. i've had a couple of shoes with these laces and don't know if it is just me, but the laces always come undone every hour or so. I have to double knot these kind of laces.

Yup you're right. I don't like laces too. That's why my first made to order pair are monk straps.

It's 3pm now and the knot is still intact. I just tightened it as it was coming loose liao

All the brands you mentioned, may make comfy shoes but none of them truly make proper business shoes. Hush puppies Ecco Skechers are not for serious business.

Just like Aldo, Pedro, charles and keith. All these dont make proper serious business shoes

Basically wear for a year max and throw.

You are right.

Strictly speaking my work shoes should be safety boots

I started from Hush Puppies then ECCO now Skechers.

I find ECCO not worth the price at most 2 plus years. Then they cheat my feelings the thread sewing is pattern niah can detach on its own.

My Skechers is discount buy one thirty plus $. 2 days back bought another discounted pair also 30 plus.

Base on working shoes I half your SES.

And I find Eccos rather narrow for my feet.

They are quite affordably priced at Premium Outlet stores in the US. I got a pair of loafers for like S$80.

I am like 11 half to 12 depending on makes and I have duck feet.

Difficult to find my size, width and the design I like.

sketchers seems to have this very very bad odour issue when it becomes wet. i googled a little when @lala81 mentioned it in another thread. worldwide problem and so far, no workable solution found.

Waxed laces do have some tendency to come undone if you dont tie tightly or wear your shoes loosely.

However waxed laces are better than unwaxed as it gives the shoes the needed sharp look and makes any adjustments of the laces more effortless.

that's true but it's just damn bloody irritating having to tighten the laces a few times a day. i guess my problem is wearing my shoes loosely as i have skinny feet.

i am wearing a pair with this kind of laces now. luckily for me, the laces are well used now and with a double knot, it does not loosen every now and then.

(edited)

Nowadays things all very expensive.

I remember a decent pair of proper business shoes off the rack can be had locally for under $200 easily.

Now not so easily . Most are above $250

A good pair (european made) used to be around $350 to $500

Now it can easily start from $500 up

Not to mention those high end brands all above $1000 a pair

Jialat, very tough for jobless people like me.

i can't wear monk strap. feet too skinny and the shoe will slip off when i walk. [laugh]

buying leather shoes i like at a price point i can afford is a very difficult affair. [dizzy]

That's why I went the Made To Order route.

I'm stingy when I come to shoes. All my shoes were $100 and below and I only buy them when on sale.

This 2 pairs are my first expensive work shoes which I wanted to try for YOLO although the price is peanuts compared to some of my friends' Ferragamos or those ladies' Louboutins.
