Scenic98 Clutched July 14, 2008 Share July 14, 2008 In the meantime, the LTA is working with local company Quantum Inventions in the development of a dynamic route navigation system. Drawing real-time information from LTA's traffic monitoring centre, the system will plot the best driving route, taking into account accidents, road works and traffic slowdowns. It is believed that the system, now available over the web and mobile phone devices, could also be integrated into other in-vehicle systems such as GPS and map navigators at a later stage. David Clutched July 14, 2008 Share July 14, 2008 My pet subject - illegal parking in handicap lots. Current it takes forever for the enforcement unit to response to such complaint that by the time they showed up, the errant driver would have moved off. The plan is with the GPS-enabled, only authorised handicap labelled car will have a special code and these will triggered a detection mounted on the handicap lot signboard. The IU code will be tallied with the information captured. If there is a invalid match, then a pic will be snapped for 'prosperity sake' and a citation sent No need to call Car Park Enforcement Unit anymore. Hey the wives may also make use of this GPS-enabled IU in keeping track of the husband on a mobile phone or PC. But of course if the husbands swop car around, here and there - the wives will be confused.
