Kumho KU15 & KU31. Any users?

From what I've read about MX in the past , it is more suited for track usage, more noise with less wet traction. KU31 is still a good compromise as a daily use performance tires. Currently rank number 1 in www.tirerack.com under UHP category. I already set my mind on KU31 [;)].

Thanks.

Yeah.. I'm leaning towards KU31 more than the KU15.. But what worries me is that from the quote by Chromas above that it has slightly poorer grip than Eagle F1.. Currently on F1s and find that performance is just satisfactory.. unsure.gif

1. You're just like me. I'm currently on 225/45R17 Eagle F1. I'm doing ok will F1(used since early Feb/08) and like ORAC, had used on NSHW, downpour, max 210Km/h and so on. So for a normal driver like me, who is driving a family sedan, capable of only 155bhp, F1 is more than good enough for me.

2. On the other hand, if KU31 is used on international rallies and even local drifter have used it, so it should be more than good enough for a normal driver like me. I plan to change my F1 end of the year or early next year. I usually change tyres once a year despite of the tyres condition.

3. By the way, lesser is not equal to poorer leh.

Same goes for me too.. With not much power to put on the road, I think the KU31 should suffice my daily driving needs and some spirited action..

I have been using F1s since Dec '06 and had serve its purpose well.. Right now, I'm sourcing for better alternatives and also making the wise choice.. If all goes well, I should be changing to Kumhos by month end..

With regards to your 3rd point, pardon me for my poor command in English.. wink.gif

1. It looks like you will be changing soon, let us know the field report as I'm eager to know [laugh].

2. No lah, nothing to do with English just our interpretation.

Please update us on any new price changes for ku31.

Also, check if the tire shop got free Kumho bumper stickers or car decals or not.

I have been looking for these, so far no luck.

Cheers

I go to P.o.h H.e.n.g no regret for their prices.

By the way, where are you getting the Kumho Tires from? Wanted to know who are the dealers for Kumho Tires in Singapore.

Thank you.

Yap, I remembered that so the next change should be KU31 but Eagle F1 still looks good and reliable too [thumbsup]on my humble ride.

I have been using KU31 for 1 year, done 20000KM. Profile is 195/50/R15. Cost $80 each.

This tyre is cheap and extremely good in the wet. However, they are noisy when driving above 90km/h. Thread wear seems good and mine look like it can last till 40000-50000km. I will try Firestone Wide Oval for my next change.

For 225, it is going for $150 each, comparable to Eagle F1.

Noisy? suppose to be one of the quieter performance tyres based on major tyres review and ratings. 90Km/h already noisy? This is worse than F1!
