Subzro Neutral Newbie July 12, 2008 Share July 12, 2008 Hi guys, my tires are due for changing soon and I've narrowed down my choice to these two Korean Rubbers due to its value for money characteristics and budget restrain. However, I'd like to see comments or reviews from END-USERS of these two tires.. Any poistive and negative feedback based on these choices are greatly appreciated. ↡ Advertisement

Kelpie 2nd Gear July 12, 2008 Share July 12, 2008 1. I should be expecting to change to 225/45R17 KU31 this year end. If there is no new replacement for it, KU31 will very likely to be my next change. 2. Chromas used KU31 for drifting and his comment was: Kumho KU31 - Slightly less grippy than the Goodyear F1 but still (progressive drift grip is possible) - Moderate wear rate - Hardly any noise - Price is around Goodyear F1 prices Regards,

Orac Clutched July 13, 2008 Share July 13, 2008 I got my KU31 215/45/17 from Yap B*** at $140 last Dec. During the same time they quoted KU15 at $160-165. threadwear for ku31 is 320, pretty good imo. Wear rate very even if you remember to rotate wheels at 10k interval. I have used 16 and 17s ku31 before... driven up to nsh on 16s... encounter heavy downpour and did not experience any hydroplaning. value for money set of tires

Yes, I went to Binter website at www.binter.com.sg and it seems like they're also the distributor for Goodyears and Cooper too. Binter classified Goodyears as Luxury class tyres and Cooper as Premium class tyres . Kumho is for mass market consumer leh. 2. The Tyres shop that I frequent doesn't carry Kumho but I like their services. Probably either to get them to buy from Binter or I have to buy from a dealer and get them to installed for me. Kelpie 2nd Gear July 13, 2008 Share July 13, 2008 btw, price is 145 for 215/50/17 as a guide for u In that case, it will be a cheaper switch for me from Goodyears Eagle F1 to KU31. Regards,

Subzro Neutral Newbie July 13, 2008 Author Share July 13, 2008 (edited) Yes yes.. They are the MX series.. In terms of comfort and road performance, here is what I gathered from Tirerack; KU31 http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?ti...Model=Ecsta+SPT KU15 http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?ti...eModel=Ecsta+MX Seems that the latter is more suitable for much more spirited drivers IMO..
