Merrills 1st Gear July 12, 2008 Share July 12, 2008 Hi all, I am on the verge of replacing my Picnic that is around 5 months away from its 5th birthday. Would appreciate if fellow bros/sis can help advise the available choices with the following criteria: 1) Budget of <= S$100k (minimal loan <$40k) 2) Sliding doors (at least one powered) 3) FC >= 9KM/L (My Picnic is only ~8KM/L with 60%/40% city/highway driving) 4) Option for moon roof (wife wants it..) 5) Ample boot space when all seats are used Thanks! ↡ Advertisement

Testa_ross4 Clutched July 12, 2008 Share July 12, 2008 Your point 3 would only leave you with Wish or Stream but no sliding door, IMO this kind of station wagon with an extra row of seats which many ppl call MPV, only good if your family all midgets and no elderly. Get a real full sized MPV and ditch the FC, afterall you are not margin owner, go for Estima.
Testa_ross4 Clutched July 12, 2008 Share July 12, 2008 No way any of these can do >9kml with 60% City driving.
Ahsiong Neutral Newbie July 12, 2008 Share July 12, 2008 your point 3 and point 5 sort of contradicted themselves. cos if you still wan ample boot space when all seats are up, that means the mpv must be big and hence will be big CC too. so the FC can't be so good. however, this morning just saw the newspaper on this new Volkswagen Touran Sport MPV which is only a 1.4 litres but due to its double charging system, have a high power output and yet low FC of ard 13km/L according to its spec sheet. maybe you can take a look: http://www.sgcarmart.com/new_cars/newcars_...p?CarCode=10575 selling at 95k++, so within you budget.
