psychologically would u prefer to be be up against a cement mixer speeding at 100 in this or a bigger car

 

crash impact only useful for same size vehicles, against a large one this vehicle will get rolled over like a monster truck

 

What about all those Lambos and Ferraris that seem to be running all around town now-a-days ?

Yup. Govt will loose major revenue with TAX loss. SPC can close shop.

 

That's the real reason why I think VW kept it under wraps for the past 6 years.

 

But with the high cost of fuel now. There's real danger of Substitution taking place. This means that there's a big chance that people might move out of the current status quo and into a total new paradigm, new technology.

 

If that happens, companies like VW will have their entire biz model tossed and the markets will move ahead of them.

 

That's what happened to KODAK. They came up with the world's 1st Digital Camera and decided not to promote it big time because they were afraid it would hurt their film sales. Instead they spent millions promoting their new ADV film (anyone remember that short lived format ?) and only sold the digital camera as high end $5K+ to pro levels.

 

Now the ADV format is dead and every other brand is making Digital Cameras. No one has even heard of a KODAK digital camera... (actually, I bought the 1st kodak DC-10 for my Company)

dont think so..previously, all the ultra-environmental friendly cars are developed by small time business and entrepreneurs..but this time round, it's VW..

 

in the case of EV1, it's a combination of politics and lack of good battery technologies that ultimately lead to it's demise..

 

hopefully VW's project will become successfull tho..

actually i don't think will die if hit... unless u r crushed by some speeding 20/30 foot lorry or cement mixer... but 1 issue i'm worried abt light vehicles is stability... i.e. if e-brake will skid or worse... looking at the design, like quite ez 2 flip over...
