Have been looking for some less common theme parks and chanced across 2 :

1. Water World Pedas Hot Springs - does look nice on the web with hot springs thrown in. But sometimes "what you see is not what you get" [;)] Has anyone tried this fairly recently and any comments on condition of facilities?

2. Water World Batu Pahat - This is a much nearer drive but again not sure if it is nice as it looks. Any comments?

If it was old then I can imagine now [sweatdrop] if there were no maintainance done since. But anyway, if rides and pool are fine, probably worth a drive as its relatively near.

Not sure if its worth staying over or drive back on same day since its only approx 2 to 3 hrs drive and can treat as a day trip.

Update ....

Drove up to Batu Pahat last Sat. Started off at 9.30am and got stuck 1 hr in Tuas. As it was around 12.30pm when we arrive in BP, decided to go for lunch at Batu Pahat Mall and look-see before heading off to Wet World.

BP Mall is touted as the 3rd largest in Johor and was fairly new and decent but many shop lots were still in original state i.e. cement floors and very low human traffic even on Saturday afternoon.

Arrived Wet World at 3.30pm. Paid the RM2 car park fee, took one look through the fencing of Wet World and left immediately.

1. Whole place look very poorly maintained indeed and you can see the obvious fading paint on buildings and the faded plastic on the slide tube.

2. The water in the pool looked greenish and suggested poor or lack of proper filtration and whilst it look liked river water and is probably safe, we decided to skip the whole outing as it looked rather unclean. We could also see dark spots on the pool and thats probably algae spots

3. Perhaps we are spolit after visiting Sunway managed pools with its properly filtered water etc but for a hot Saturday afternoon, there were about 20 people in Wet World and I think that says a lot too.

Will strike this off my list and will not recommend this to any one, IMHO.

May just try Wet World Pedas one fine day as its supposedly Hot Spings water so filtration should be a problem [:p] But its a must further drive ......
