How to disable clutch interlock switch?

Anyone here has disable their car clutch interlock switch before? Can recommend me how to DIY or a shop that can do it? Quite irritating leh. Thanks.

look at the clutch pedal in the foot well, there should be a switch that toggles when the clutch pedal is depressed, something like a brake light switch. u need to find out the state of the switch when the clutch is depressed. Most likely the contacts will be closed when the pedal is depressed, completing the circuit to supply power to the starter, but do check and cfm this on your car first.

 

If above is true, then all u need to do is to disconnect the connector to the clutch switch and join the wires together. Get a mechanic to do all this if u're not sure

i suppose it is the feature that requires clutch to be fully depressed to be able to start the engine, correct me if i am wrong.

I haven't even done it and it's almost a year oready. [laugh]

u mean the new feature in most new cars... to depress clutch to start engine key?

 

i done mine at balestier one audio shop.

i do it when installing alarm, thus free

the boss quite competent on wiring.

 

think most audio shop who got do wiring will be able to do it.

 

should be 20-30 bucks labor only... cheap cheap jus disconnect the correct wire.

It's actually not a new feature. My car is a 2001 Sunny VIP. :o

 

If DIY, I think using a cable tie is a good idea. Else probably have to go audio shop.
