i work at bugis. bugis junction food court very ex. but if i go to rochor centre, the food centre behind fu loo shou, the coffeeshop near the guan yin temple, you can get a meal for $2.50. like the article says, hawker centres, coffee shops - not food court.

Even Bishan Junction 8 foodcourt is more expensive den Bugis Junction foodcourt. [mad][rifle] They just renovated the new place again. [sweatdrop]

report makes it sounds like hawker food still cheap cheap... sure bo? [:|]

Yest went to a foodcourt at Sengkang. The Coroxx Chicken rice is selling at $4.50 per plate!!! [sweatdrop][sweatdrop]

Just 2 chicken wings and a bowl of rice. Imagine if the rice cost 70 cents then each chicken is $1.90???

Few weeks ago, the same plate of chicken rice was selling $3.80 ( not so cheap also) but now its really too ex for a neighbourhood food court.. [shakehead][shakehead]

That is a typical style of reporting that adheres to standard from the MIW. They did not specifiy what is ibelow $2.50.

Of course, I can get many cooked food that are below $2.50:

- Rice + 1 veg + 1 meat (approx $2)

- Chui Kweh (approx 3 for $1)

- Fried carrot cake ($2-$2.50)

- Economic bee hoon ($0.80 - $1)

.

.

.

.

The list goes on...

Neutral Newbie
i think i better quit my current stuff and work and start to selling in food court.. [rolleyes]

Hi brother,

I think you need a pair of good lens. The life of hawker is tough leh. The price of the raw products, rental and utility are rising very quickly and yet it is very difficult to increase the price as quickly. Also, they have to try to get more business each day to cover the rising fixed costs.

They are also caught between the rock and a hard wall.

Think again CAREFULLY.

:P
