Beei 1st Gear June 27, 2008 Share June 27, 2008 (edited) Installment ~~ S$450 Parking at home and workplace ~~ S$120 Petrol(after raise to RM2.70) - RM200 Insurance ~~ S$120 Road Tax(before July 2008) ~~ S$70 Servicing(based on 30K and 40K divided by 12 months) ~~S$40 Lesson learnt: Take as little loan as possible, pump JB petrol, service car outside.. Installment, road tax, parking is dead. Can only save on petrol and servicing.. Insurance is heng suay.. I go through ERP maybe once per month - no issue.. Chrispie 5th Gear June 27, 2008 Author Share June 27, 2008 (edited) I think 60-100% is almost not relevant, cos almost nobody will be in this state, or if in this state they fainted alrdy. So the distribution should be in 5% for the 1st few options then 20% from 60-80% & 80-100%. Also net income or gross income? Monthly car expenses u excluded the highest item which is monthly instalments? I said everything in leh.. of coz instalment is part of the deal lah.. well, you will be surprised that I know people paying 60% of their income to the upkeeping of their rides. But well, these people may not have much family commitment. If I am making 10k/mth, and i spend 6k on my car.. the remaining 4k is still pretty comfortable, if i am the type that doesnt bother to save at all. Anything is possible. For me is roughly 12%.. now regretting not putting in more downpayment at the start.. :( Edited June 27, 2008 by Chrispie

Marquee Clutched June 27, 2008 Share June 27, 2008 wow! i'm impressed with the income level of fellow forumers. assuming that most drivers spend easily $1.2K per month on their vehicle, we have a lot of 5-figure income earners in this forum. my $1.2K assumption is made up of $500 instalment, $300 petrol, $100 cashcard, $100 season parking $200 for taxes, insurance, servicing etc. Ha ha.... pls do a search on other polls about income, bonus and money matter, you shall see the distribution curve. Curahee 1st Gear June 27, 2008 Share June 27, 2008 (edited) Go JB to pump 1/4 oil? Unless i illegally go and tampered my fuel needle, if not its basically not worth it for the 1/4 of oil for my case unless i live next to the causeway. Carfan Neutral Newbie June 27, 2008 Share June 27, 2008 serious.. so you are making 10k at least to 15k.. since a car most prob need abt 1.5k to 2k of expenses monthly.. When the car is fully paid, the monthly expense can likely be less than 1k a month. Of course, what you said is also a possibility.

Beei 1st Gear June 27, 2008 Share June 27, 2008 If you live too far from causeway >20km, then I guess not really worth it.. But for me, there are other things to do in JB..
Ldawn88 2nd Gear June 27, 2008 Share June 27, 2008 From the poll results, seems like most of the MCF forumers are rich people leh... no wonder our gov can safely plant so many erp gantries! Somehow, I believe that the results are not really true reflections? monthly car expense on avg can be ard $1200 (from those who posted in this thread and on a previous long standing thread)... so many forumers are actually earning $10K?! assuming 10% as suggested in the results. ↡ Advertisement
