Friendstar Supercharged June 28, 2008 Share June 28, 2008 i mean foreign banks, like barclay, UBS, CS etc not those UOB, OCBC etc those who work in banks are usually grads... so what's so surprising that she's a grad? in fact grads are lowest lifeform with many attaining good honors and masters. i think i'm a bit misleading.. i mean HR with experience la... not those fresh grad HR. just imagine barclay pays IT interns (university students) $4500/month to maintain their projects, servers etc. in banks,... the sky is the limit. Nighthawkcity 1st Gear June 28, 2008 Share June 28, 2008 Not really lah. A lot of people I know are earning more than $10k a month. They are not any upper/senior management. Some sales people, some musicians, some hairdressers... A lot to do with their capabilities and talent in their respective fields... ya. wat i meant is there are a lot more pple in the range of 3k to 5k.. professionals in their fields would of course make more, esp if they are the top in their field.. anyway, my salary sucked still, nowhere near 10k.. Nighthawkcity 1st Gear June 28, 2008 Share June 28, 2008 Nowadays, plenty of >$10k pm. not as few as you think. But i guess depends on what job and company and industry. In certain industries, entry level stardards are $3 - $8k Senior management is 10 times that. i understand there are a lot of >10k pm..just that i am not 1 of them. Ldawn88 2nd Gear June 28, 2008 Share June 28, 2008 if there are that many ppl getting > 10K, then whatever more gantries, rise in oil prices are transparent to them. I am from the head hunting industry. So I know very well the pay situations in SG. not really that glamorous pay in SG... only ard 5% gets that kind of pay in the contrary. Somehow, I personally do not really know that many getting that kind of paycheck. maybe 2 out of 15 people. And they are from diverse fields. Nowadays, plenty of >$10k pm. not as few as you think. Ldawn88 2nd Gear June 28, 2008 Share June 28, 2008 Bro, agreed. lifestyle and ability to afford flashy cars aside, it always make economical sense to bring down your expense on negative assets. So it is absolutely right in making a decision to purchase a car that is only a small percentage of your pay. From the poll results, seems like most of the MCF forumers are rich people leh... no wonder our gov can safely plant so many erp gantries! Somehow, I believe that the results are not really true reflections? monthly car expense on avg can be ard $1200 (from those who posted in this thread and on a previous long standing thread)... so many forumers are actually earning $10K?! assuming 10% as suggested in the results. Agree on that. % wise is not accurate to derive how rich forumers are. It also depends on the car you drive and consumption habits. Lets say I earn 7k a mth and I bought a budget car at only 40k. 10 year loan at $416 a mth which is only 5%. Plus petrol and parking etc lets say max up to 10% of my salary a mth which is stil very little. End of the day I am still not rich what. Just that I buy cheaper car. Ldawn88 2nd Gear June 28, 2008 Share June 28, 2008 Well, bro, on your following. I didn't reveal how much I earn , and please do define what is head hunting in Singapore's context. Anyway, coming back on the $10k salary thingy. As mentioned in my previous post, there are people who definitely earn this amt. I did not mention that this figure is high or low, but to me, if I want to take this 10k magic amount as a benchmark, then to tell the truth, not many people in SG are commanding this paycheck. Well, if you are commanding this amount, then yes, you may find my words smoothing as you put it. seems like yours is not really headhunting, just recruitment.Headhunters also earn >$10K+++++++ your words are soothing to hear ↡ Advertisement
