The Straits Times

POLICE cordoned off a construction site in Clementi on Thursday and took blood samples from about 200 foreign workers hours after a woman was sexually assaulted in a nearby park.

The victim, believed to be a National University of Singapore student in her mid-20s, was attacked on Wednesday night at around 10.40pm.

It is believed that she was set upon while walking on a footpath through the Clementi Woods Park, which is just opposite the university.

While the police would not comment on the nature of the offence, The Straits Times understands that the Special Operations Command (SOC) was activated.

The unit is used to maintain public and during tactical operations, among other things.

Read the full story in Friday's edition of The Straits Times.

Isn't Clementi Woods Park part of the Southern Ridges?

No longer safe for single female walker/jogger [sweatdrop]

Possible, but the victim must have given very crucial information for the focus to be on FT workers.

Remember th female jogger that was raped and murdered in Bukit Batok? Still unsolved.....................

SPF needs to buck up.

Wah.. just opposite my place.

There's this new condo that's being constructed beside the park.

Always see lots of foreign workers sitting by the road waiting to be ferried after their work about 6+pm.

The park is not that well lit btw. I myself quite scared to go in at night, this woman so brave dare to take the short cut through.. [sweatdrop]

Hope she managed to escape or the attacker didn't get to do his thing. can't imagine a uni student have to go thru this kinda thing [shakehead]
