Orablue 1st Gear June 19, 2008 Share June 19, 2008 (edited) hi anyone knows if dunlop sport maxx has rim protector? dunlop website indicate that it has MFS (max flange shield == rim protector) but i read some where here that said it doesn't. btw, i'm currently using dz101 215/45/17 and i find that MFS is quite effective. also, i noticed there are a number of different sport maxx models available on the web. anyone knows which specific sport maxx model is available in singapore? thanks! blue Edited June 19, 2008 by Orablue ↡ Advertisement

Mzrmazda3 6th Gear July 14, 2008 Share July 14, 2008 I'm now on Yokohama S-Drive which has rim protector Bro, it's better to get tyres with rim protector IMHO My previous set of rims was slightly 'Buanged' Huay Huay because the tyres did not have rim protector cos i'm used to park my ride either more to left/right which resulted in kerb scratching onto the rims At least with rim protector ones, the tendency would be reduced IMHO

Civic6656 1st Gear July 14, 2008 Share July 14, 2008 No, it's the rubber protrusion around the rim.

Boyboy 1st Gear July 14, 2008 Share July 14, 2008 it's that lip that protrudes. just look around at the carpark. "sporty" tires will have it, usually. see the yellow circled portion in my pic. that is an exaggerated example. i bio rim protectors almost as much as i bio nice female curves . most rim protectors are much less pronounced than those on my potenza GIIIs

Thermodynamics Neutral Newbie July 17, 2008 Share July 17, 2008 I always thought rim protector is the entire piece of sidewall that protudes out more than the rim to prevent it from being scatched. So it is just one strip? ↡ Advertisement
