Performance enhancer - Yokokaya (Con job??)

Hi ppl,

I was introduced to this Yokokaya performance enhancer recently by a friend. I personally think it's rubbish. dead.gif But allow me to share what I saw in the product. Maybe someone can shed some light on it and enlighten me? Maybe I'm too skeptical? Or maybe it's a really good stuff?

Ok, here it goes. I'll try to explain what this is. scholar.gif

Basically, this Yokokaya thing comes with a T-connector (copper), and a copper looking filter.

Where to fit it? Disconnect the air inlet hose (ie from brake pump to manifold), use the T connector and connect the copper looking filter.

For example:

Original air intake hose diagram

[brake pump]------[manifold]

With Yokokaya diagram

[brake pump]------|-------[manifold]

``````````[Yokokaya filter]
Basically, I think it's just having another way to suck air into the manifold. unsure.gif But the claims says that it'll improve the braking system and increase the performance. I'm wondering how could this be? I was also told that this Yokokaya filter can be added in between the air intake hose from the air filter.
I tried searching for this product online, but couldn't find anything. unsure.gif
I hope I have discribed this product properly. Hope you guys can understand. So any comments?
regards
Ecotek is also a "T" connector which fit onto the vacuum servo pipe between brake servo and inlet manifold. It will creates amount of air into the manifold.
Hmm.....then is this Ecotek effective?
Also, what is the purpose of the vacuum servo pipe between the brake servo and the inlet manifold used for? (If you don't mind explaining. [:/][crazy] )
Thanks
Sounds like an 'ecotek'. Other designs for that would be capsule and gunigong (S'pore made - available at BKS, BMS and Turbo Low mechanic shop). I have a gunigong in my car and it works. Improves response (I have removed it many times before sending car for agent servicing and there is a difference). Not sure about the effects on brakes though.
Paid $180 for Gunigong. Turbolow lets you try driving your car with the gunigong installed for a few rounds. You happy with it, you buy. But I dun know how to direct you to his shop in Sungei Kadut. A fren brought me there.
There is also the other product you can consider for improvong response... ke ke ke. Not a gunigong but my ActiveCAI (Active Cold Air Intake). Pls read it up in the thread ActiveCAI.
I also have something similar to your ActiveCAI sly.gif
Your title: 'Supercharged' sounds like it is beyond my humble ActiveCAI specs [sweatdrop] Mine just an electric seashell design (to take advantage of the principle of the turbocharger design) air blower for the throttle body to enhance response wor. Economical and hassle free. [thumbsup]
Broquet doesn't seems to be helping me in getting better response, power. Maybe because I'm driving a new car. But over the time, I realise that my mileage is very good.
Sorry I can't give you a ??km/l but what I know is, with my full tank, I can drive up to around 660km on average. Mine's just a Mazda 323 1.6 manual, so the fuel tank is not super big. It's just standard. And most importantly is that, when I told the Mazda technicians about my car's mileage on a full tank, they were surprized. Coz they said on average, an Auto version averages around 400km. Manual around 500km.
Oh btw, the only other modification I have on my car (compared to the original) is that I have upgraded my rims to a heavier 15" taiwanese rim. So I don't think it's helping in any way.
So, I'm a happy man.
