Godfinger Neutral Newbie June 12, 2008 Share June 12, 2008 (edited) Just got an awful experience not long ago. I think I have cut into the a on coming car lane ( I did signal in advance ). The driver horned and high beam me. I thought that perhaps I know this driver so I immediately moved over to left lane and turn on Hazard Lamps. The Car passed me and I realise that is someone whom I dont know but he's just venting his anger. So I thought is just part and parcel of driving and I follow behind his car ( never horn, tailgate and high beam of course ) This time the driver pull over after both of us make a right turn and I Moved to his side this time. I saw him wanted to alight his car in a fit of anger and his wife is holding his Shirt so bad that it nearly torn. Then I told him wait wait through my passenger window but he still insist of getting down. I saw that things are bad and I drove off. This time the driver trail me to my carpark and I intentionally make a U-turn to exit. He stopped his car and get off angryliy. He gave chase on his foot all the way to the car Park Exit And I didnt stopped my car at all in fear that he may punched or do something funny. I drove to the nearby NPC and guess what, the MATA says they cant do anything and suggest that I should have spoke to the other party to clarify. But in my mind I was thinking this driver was in such a mood that even if I didnt explain, he would still moved his fist. Why I didnt stopped is because he is in a angry mind so I didnt want to provoke aguement and even worst a fight. So what do all think of this senerio? Should I stopped my car and clarify things when the drive gave chase? Venue : Wellington Circle Time : 2110 hrs My Car : Nissan Sunny The other's party car : White Toyota Vios Lic Plate : SGL **** P/S : I have use this message to reply to Lightbreaker on another Thread. Godfinger Neutral Newbie June 12, 2008 Author Share June 12, 2008 I did make a report but the MATA says its not fit to be a report. No injuries, no aguement and I didnt even provide the lic plate number ( I didnt make a point to remember as I keep telling myself to stay cool). My only worry is will he vandalise my car?? Caparo Neutral Newbie June 12, 2008 Share June 12, 2008 Sorry, I dun understand the situation the following in red. think I have cut into the a on coming car lane ( I did signal in advance ). The driver (same driver who was angry?) horned and high beam me. I thought that perhaps I know this driver so I immediately moved over to left lane and turn on Hazard Lamps. How did he end up on the same side as you at the traffic lights?
Godfinger Neutral Newbie June 12, 2008 Author Share June 12, 2008 IIts the same driver. He was in lane #1 and I was moving in parallel with him before I decided to sped up and switch to lane#1. So that makes me wonder did I provoke him by cutting into his lane? So after I am in lane#1, he highbeamed and horned me whn his at my back. So That really provoke me alittle but I thought its someone that I know. I turned on my hazard lights and moved back to lane#2 and he pass by me. Nutty 4th Gear June 13, 2008 Share June 13, 2008 These days SG getting more stressed. More and more people need anger management courses. (maybe even me) We need to medidate more...
Mean76 1st Gear June 13, 2008 Share June 13, 2008 Just wondering, It is a 2 lane road, not on expressway am I right? What is your reason to overtake him on Lane 1? Because he driving very slow or you drive super fast just to overtake him? People won't be angry over overtaking unless it is super fast overtake or blind spot overtaking. When you are behind him, you might never highbeam, horn or did anything stupid but did you drive close enough to be considered tailgating him? Tailgating varies from people to people's opinion. What you feel may not be what he feels If all of the above are not valid in your case... Then perhaps you just encounter a drunk driver. That is more likely possible. Zedzee 1st Gear June 13, 2008 Share June 13, 2008 (edited) Bro, maybe you caused him to jam brakes or something when you cut into his lane. You mentioned that you signalled but it doesn't mean that signalling gives you the right to cut straight into someone's lane. Perhaps the situation would be better if you had waved as a gesture of apology for cutting his lane (and maybe causing him to brake) when you were travelling side by side with him. I do agree that some drivers have really low tolerance level. They'll high beam and honk you on lane 2, taunting you to go faster when lane 1 is clear for overtaking. If we were to be more forgiving and friendly, the roads would be a better place to drive on. Edited June 13, 2008 by Zedzee

Godfinger Neutral Newbie June 13, 2008 Author Share June 13, 2008 Its just conincidence that I needed to turn right with him too. I wanted to have a talk and understand the situation when he pulled over but this driver is so mad and in a fit of anger and somemore needs his wife to hold him back. So seeing such senerio, I drove off and didnt expect him to gave chase on foot shortly. Maybe he's pissed off but not to the extent of giving chase on foot right.. I didnt create room for explanation because he is so mad and I didnt want to end up lying in the Hospital.
