Simnon Clutched June 12, 2008 Share June 12, 2008 (edited) Hi ! I have a pair of 4 inch component speakers installed in the front dashboard and when up the volume, only hear the sound from the tweeters but no sound coming out from the mid bass speaker. Using the balance control to check, both side still no sound, but the tweeters ok. Was wondering if any bros could provide some advice on the likely cause of no sound. Thanks Edited June 12, 2008 by Simnon ↡ Advertisement
Rayoh Neutral Newbie June 12, 2008 Share June 12, 2008 should be loose connection. check connections at amp. Worst scenario, AMP up the lorry !
Spinworkx Clutched June 12, 2008 Share June 12, 2008 Well, are you using an amp to begin with? If yes, then yes, chek the amp connection first and see if the amp is not faulty. If you're not running any amps, then could b the Headunit having problem. Unlikely it's the wiring because "usually" it can't be BOTh wires loose at the same time..usually it's either left or right no sound, to have both no sound, can be wiring but its very unlikely. Also, unlikely it's both speakers spoilt at the same time...nor can it be both crossovers spoilt at the same time. If i were you, 2 things i will check first, 1) Amp and 2) Headunit
Simnon Clutched June 13, 2008 Author Share June 13, 2008 Not running from amps but directly from HU. Connections all ok.
Simnon Clutched June 13, 2008 Author Share June 13, 2008 No amps to check since running from HU. Did a fade control check and notice the front end output is much lower than the rear end and could I conclude is that the HU front end amp is abnut to be gone soon. I have to set to 4 out of a max of 6 of the fade control to the front end in order to ger soumd out of the front end midbass speaker. Thanks
Spinworkx Clutched June 13, 2008 Share June 13, 2008 Well, in this case, seems like the internal amp from the HU is spoilt or going to die anytime soon... Maybe it's time to shop around for a new one :)
Dunno Neutral Newbie June 13, 2008 Share June 13, 2008 Maybe the midbass is power hungry compared to the tweeters. That's why HU power not enough to push the midbass? Will sound soft. ↡ Advertisement
