My wife is yelling at me to get the function disable as during the long trip to malaysia that we are making regularly, every other members of my family is having fun watching TV serial but my wife to acompany me can only listen....Is it wise for me to disable this interlock and who will be able to do this slight modifications..Thanks..Does this modification break any Gov regulation?

Can be done, but I suggest you get the installer to put a switch to toggle this function should you need to send your car for inspection. [lipsrsealed][flowerface]

The DVD HU installed in my car can definitely display images and function as per normal when I'm driving, so it's very unlikely that it's illegal.

I think any decent ICE shop should be able to do it for you, just check out one that you know or trust [thumbsup]

It is actually illegal. There should not be any line of sight between the driver and the LCD when the car is moving, except for navigational information display usage like GPS. But then again, it all depends on luck. If kenna super-ON TP/ROV, they can summon you.

I never disable this feature anyway as you can switch to FM when you see TP nearby, besides, the DVD HU is mounted on the bottom of the dashboard so if TP want to see clearly from the side window then can see.

Guess no TP or ROV so free to glance through the window for some time when driving out on the road.

Ya lor, so far I have seen TP or ROV motorbikes passing by me only, they will not glance through the window unless your car is something so special that attracts their attention like those with full body kits, stickers or high spoiler.

Isn't it obvious why such feature was fixed in in the first place?

If you want to play with fire....welcome to Night Court!

And lastly, if your wifey can 'yell' at you for for an issue which she clearly don't understand or put it this wy...don't want to understand...maybe it's time to cut her loose! [sly][laugh][laugh]
