Deathstalker 2nd Gear August 1, 2008 Share August 1, 2008 (edited) After thinking of the HUD thingy, gave it up cuz' tot of betta idea... Got myself a shiny 4' GPS, that tells me the speed... Upside: no wiring, GPS, cheap ($299/-) Downside: Battery lifespan, GPS weakness etc... Please dunt shoot me for using my HP while driving - I did make sure my car fully stopped, & the other cars around me too, before taking a quick shot... Crv007 Neutral Newbie August 1, 2008 Share August 1, 2008 Quote Wah, just installed at Mcwell last Friday for $150.......damn happy and shiok to drive. Really more relaxing to drive without having to look down at the stock speedo, helps me easily to maintain speed within the speed limit as it is now so easy to get the speed reading and also comes with audible and/or visual speed warning. Don't know why mfrs dont install this is as stock item for new cars, I believe they did use this technology on some earlier cars but somehow stopped. I will never drive cars without HUD ever. New BMW X6 has this HUD thingy
Testa_ross4 Clutched August 1, 2008 Author Share August 1, 2008 HUD should be standard.
Testa_ross4 Clutched August 1, 2008 Author Share August 1, 2008 OK that is cool too but once you get HUD you will get hooked
Caravan 5th Gear August 2, 2008 Share August 2, 2008 Interesting, is the projection near or far? While driving you are looking far, so do your eyes have to refocus to near in order to see the numbers?
Testa_ross4 Clutched August 2, 2008 Author Share August 2, 2008 I dont have problem with focusing as the projection is quite far ahead but if you have no problems with the stock speedo, then you should have no problem with the HUD.

Testa_ross4 Clutched August 2, 2008 Author Share August 2, 2008 They also never did mine before, but did it in one go. BTW what car you driving?
Caravan 5th Gear August 2, 2008 Share August 2, 2008 kia magentis. I think this will be really useful at high speed.
Testa_ross4 Clutched August 3, 2008 Author Share August 3, 2008 Yes, it is very useful at high speeds and cornering.
Caravan 5th Gear August 18, 2008 Share August 18, 2008 Well did it at autobacs too but a bit disappointed as their worksmanship no good. They didn't clean the windscreen probably and the film has quite a lot of dirt in it. If solar film, it's an automatic failure. Complained but they say no extra film so can't redo it. Anyway quite useful la as it's digital and dun have to look down to check speed. Useful up north.
Testa_ross4 Clutched August 18, 2008 Author Share August 18, 2008 Redo at Solar Film shop. HUD very useful. ↡ Advertisement
