A good morning from your friendly MPV-loving fellow forumer!

Check out this new MPV from China now on sale in Singapore. Introducing the 1051cc 7-seater Wu Ling Journey:

http://www.wuling.com.sg/showroom.htm

I don't think many MPV's come with swiveling seats and coffee table... let alone at a good price! [nod]

Actually, the whole concept of the picture is quite interesting.

1) A 3-generation family is having a birthday party for their youngest family member inside a CAR.

2) The huge, flower-embellished birthday cake, enough for at least double the number of people there, is presented flawlessly, with no cake box in sight, to the kid, by his grandpa.

3) The grandma appears to be asking the kid "hey, where's your wedding ring?", with a smiley face and holding a teddy bear, which one would assume that she would give to the kid as a present, but is concerned about his wedding ring instead.

4) The kid's mom is waiting to see what he has to say about losing his wedding ring, with a smiley face.

5) The dad, instead of joining his family at the back of the car, stays in front in the driving seat, and turns back to join in the fun at a stop light or something. That implies that this 3-generation family is so busy that they HAVE TO celebrate a birthday while en route to somewhere, driving in a car.

Interesting indeed.

Just called up to check. Never ask anything else.

Quoted on the phone $39,888.

Add $2000 more for the luxury version.(Never ask what additional goodies)

Sounds value for money. Will go down this weekends to Check-It-Out for myself!

I'm sorry to say this, but looking at the dashboard picture in the website, it actually reminds me of my old 1979 Suzuki 550 micro-van. Not in looks, but in the quality of the plastics used. Wonder what's the price.

Just did a test drive on this mini van during the weekend at AML, Ubi. Below is my findings.

Exterior: Well looks like the Suzuki APV but slightly smaller in length

Interior: Nothing fancy with normal plastic looks. One thing I like about this mini van is that it has cater air-condition for the passengers siting at the back which MPVs like WISH and Steam does not. Thats a plus point to me.

Driving feel: Was ok given that its only 1.1L and I brought with me a few friends of mine to test drive. Gear shifting was quite smooth. Check with my friends after the test drive and ask them how do they feel sitting behind their comment was that the suspension feels a little soft but other then that it was enjoyable. Overall driving experience was good.

I was told by the sales that they are using the Suzuki engine so I guess it should be quite reliable.

Price of the van I was quoted as $39,800 if I top up and $1,500 I will get leather side, rims and a dvd player that they fix it up on the passengers sunshade.

Hope this is good info for those that are considering buying this van. Cheers.

Correct me if I am wrong, the price u mentioned after the testdrive was for the MPV version or van version?

And I think this is only available in manual? Any idea if auto coming in?

This would be good as a second car for family outings.....

1051cc china-made engine to haul 7 pax?

i thought my korean 1086cc strains a little to haul 5 pax.

then again, maybe china tech far superior to korean tech [sly]

this one going up genting? seriously i have my doubts..
