Neutral Newbie

Well my brother had a Chinese teacher who styled himself a "modern day poet". He would often wander off into his own world with a few lines of Chinese poems/ idioms while making the circular motion with his head. Never mind that he was half way through teaching a lesson, or invigilating an exam.

One day, after a few brilliant moments of inpiration wherein he again rambled on and on with a few more of Li Bai's best lines than usual, he thought it was fitting that he marked the occasion by giving himself a new poetic English name. As the last poem he recited was about summertime, he turned to the students and declared to them: I just thought of a brilliant English name for myself.... Soon news got around, and Summer became a brunt of the students' joke:

Problem was, "summer" was a girl's name and his surname is Lau.

Summer Lau - (Mandarin - Hanyu pinyin) Low Class.
