Volkswagon beetle a girls car?

I presume u are referring to the NEW beetle. If u are a girl, it looks like a girl's car. If u are a guy, then u will look gay. I know coz that car was my first car and I bought it coz my wife wanted it, so i gave in to her... biggest mistake I ever made... that car has HUGE quality issues. Trust me, the ladies will not be impressed....

anyway, that's just my experience. we still see the beetles on our roads fairly often; people r luving it & still buying them but i just don't like it.

 

not liking is normal, everybody has his rights to lie or dislike something... just lie me, i never like sunny and altis... just dislike it soo very much that i have to bear with the uncles on the roads everyday & i have to see them everywhere i go.

- the last straw was when my BRAKES failed!!! I had to drive down my office carpark using only my handbrake to get to the tow truck.

yea i agree that beetle is a ladies' car or for a guy who really want alot of attention for being a maverick. I remember when i was still in secondary school, i wanted to have a mauve beetle with plush fabric seats done in zebra pattern.

 

Now i just want a good old BMW 6 series. just a 640i cabriolet.

 

Yea actually, the most conti marques generally have more glitches here and there. Have a 3 yr old megane(FRENCH! ) and below are the problems:

 

- Batt died every almost every 10 months (Remedy: Replace the stock batt with a good oem)

 

- Engine mounting loose after 1 yr (Remedy: Replace mounting at AD)

 

- Power window failer for every window @ least once.

 

- Power steering computer go haywire. Steering become heavy when moving. (Remedy: Stop and restart the car. As precautionary measures, AD changed the entire steering coloumn.)

 

Yea, so if you can put up with all the funny problems that a conti can give, contis are generally very comfotable cars

I'd still go for conti as long as I can afford it. No doubt, those MIJ cars or even MIT cars are still more reliable.

 

Oh well, there's gotta be some trade off somewhere.

Not all MIJ cars are reliable..there's reportedly quite a lot of reliablity issues being mentioned abt the previous Lancer..I think just becos toyota and honda is known as realiable most pple have impression MIJ cars are definitely reliable..

True, there's always some black sheeps in the crop of MIJ cars. However, generally MIJ cars are still more reliable. Not juz honda & toyota. Cars like Nissan, Mazda & subaru don't have much problems it seems.

Bcos there will always be ppl who preach abt being artistic or the media always say "meant for ppl who appreciate art or life".

 

Well this is just marketing gimmick if we ever gone thru the academic courses, I prefer to call ourselves suckers like what our lecturer said, and sometimes we are big time suckers to some companies.

 

For me, I will not buy a car like that even if I have tons of $ cos I know every cent is hard earned. I might as well donate it away than spend $ on a piece of sh!t metal designed like this.

 

Based on your comments, I 'd not want a car like that. Sometimes humans are just so interesting as we like to deceive ourselves into believing that certain car characteristics are like this, these are just excuses.

 

I once came across a BMW rider fanatic, he says buy beemer bikes, every 2 wks die die must take bike to long distance otherwise bike will fail as they are designed to eat long miles. True, but first the rider must have already have the long touring need himself, otherwise are we going to do that just bcos of the bike? Or must it be the reverse: the bike serving our needs logically?

and back to the beetle, let's just say for that kinda moolah (say $115k for the 2.0 cabriolet), i would have loads of other cool cars on my shopping list to go test drive & buy! for one, i simply cannot accept a 2.0l car with such lethargic performance! ...but of course, that's just me.
