Albeniz Turbocharged June 8, 2008 Share June 8, 2008 That's a good idea if the job nature allows. But the home electricity bill will increase. (Fan, aircon, lights, radio, computer, internet etc needs energy). ↡ Advertisement

Albeniz Turbocharged June 8, 2008 Share June 8, 2008 Installing a meter might seem to be a hostile move. Put a donation can and let them chip in instead.
Albeniz Turbocharged June 8, 2008 Share June 8, 2008 bro..diesel oso no use lor ...coz diesel is almost on par with petrol now so if petrol hits 4 bucks... then diesel would be around there too Looks like CNG is the only way out (at this point of time) if diesel becomes equally expensive. Alright, I will get a Kia Picanto and install two CNG tanks on my roof top. While keeping my boot-space, I could still squeeze more value out from my fuel money. Circuit Clutched June 8, 2008 Share June 8, 2008 wah... then create drag of wind resistant. worst , the sun will heat it up till super hot then explode ur car ... possible ? need to do up heat prooofing , plus with the higher CG , possible more easy to flip turtle ? hmmmmm
Rollagt 5th Gear June 8, 2008 Share June 8, 2008 When petrol hits $4..the whole world can go for mass suicide. Why ? When petrol hits $4 it will bring collateral damamge to the prices of goods that rely on petrol. Electricity bills for a 3 room flat becomes $300 at least.. MRT/Bus fares will become $3 from Raffles Place to Tanjong Pagar. Food will cost $15 for a plate of nasi lemak that can hardly satisfy a toddler. Princey_anne 1st Gear June 8, 2008 Share June 8, 2008 I think I better change to a smaller car instead lor.
Albeniz Turbocharged June 8, 2008 Share June 8, 2008 CNG should be able to withstand higher temperature than petrol and should not explode so easily. In the event if there is a gas leak, having the tanks on top of the car would let the gas disperse easier into the air, and this is safer for the driver. In the event of a car crash, the impact is usually on the side and there would be less damage to the tanks if they are placed on top. The cylinders can be concealed by a stream-line cover, reducing air drag. The tanks are not that heavy and should not raise the CG to and unacceptable amount. With the introduction of the cylinders, the car might be slightly less FC efficient by 10%. But the cost saved by using CNG would greatly exceed that amount. Patwong 3rd Gear June 8, 2008 Share June 8, 2008 Hi, I think the market force (supply/demand) will decide what is the highest price the oil can rise. For petrol cost to reach $4/liter and the world ecomomic can still sustain and grow. By that time, it means that majority of the people in the world can still spend and go on with the normal life, like driving and going holidays. But if now, the petrol cost was $4/litre, then it might spell trouble for many people in the world. For me, i am fortunate to say that i can still afford to drive as per normal and not much affect. Yaloryalor 5th Gear June 8, 2008 Share June 8, 2008 I will start first....If petrol hits $4/l in the near future (that will mean paying about $800 monthly), I will carry on driving as I need my MPV to ferry 3 kids, parents and maid. I will probably be more selective where I travel and avoid driving unnecessary like to 7-11 which is wihtin walking distance . Maybe will consider conversion to CNG or changing to smaller cc MPV. Your say.... Due to work commitment, no choice I will still drive. Will look for better FC cars to lessen the pain.
