Webbyboy Clutched June 1, 2008 Share June 1, 2008 of course CTR!
Jascyt Neutral Newbie June 1, 2008 Share June 1, 2008 I think if CTR is within your budget, then go for it ba, new model and well engineered. Not that the DC5 isn't any good, but it's been around for ages. Technology behind the car is probably older as well. Just my opinion from a non-technical viewpoint. Have no idea bout the history of Honda p.s. When you're talking about CTR, I hope you're talking about the JDM one. KM one.. hmm..
Elfenstar 3rd Gear June 1, 2008 Share June 1, 2008 (edited) If you don't need the extra pair of doors definitely a DC5. Why? lower financial losses, less commonly seen on the road, and IMHO a nicer looking interior and exterior. Edited June 1, 2008 by Elfenstar
Cbx750p 1st Gear June 1, 2008 Share June 1, 2008 Wow Bro ! You should give us newbies more information about the dc5 and ctr ! Don't know what they meant or represent. How to vote ?
Gtrviper Neutral Newbie June 1, 2008 Author Share June 1, 2008 sorry my fault.... dc5 refer to the integra type r and ctr refers to civic fd type r (JDM)... anyway i saw on youtube that they tested this 2 ride in stock condition... CTR won by quite a fair bit... but imho the pearl white dc5 just too stunning to resist...
Rtth84 1st Gear June 1, 2008 Share June 1, 2008 the correct way is DC5R vs FD2R
Ahdi Neutral Newbie June 1, 2008 Share June 1, 2008 yes indeed, my frnd jus bought a 2nd hand DC5R from garage R few mths back. condition is still v new when he bought the car. CTR is equally good as both uses the K20A engine. main diff is u r driving a sedan or a coupe. ppl like look the CTR as a normal civic whereas a DC5R would tells u its a coupe. but the problem is how many good condition DC5R is still around in the market. CTR can easily get a new one from PI.
Accordvtec 1st Gear June 1, 2008 Share June 1, 2008 white color one, right? i guess it was advertised in sgcarmart sometime bk.
Accordvtec 1st Gear June 1, 2008 Share June 1, 2008 must see your needs. i owned the DC5R for a yr, sold it when my wife got pregnant. its a very nice car to drive but if you need to ferry family members around, it isnt very friendly in this area. if you are single and even if you are married and dun intend to have kids for next few years, you can get it. If you want a best of both world, get the CTR... current promotion is 100,800 for the CTR.interested pm me.

Silver_z 1st Gear June 2, 2008 Share June 2, 2008 I would go for CTR. Looks better, even if its a 4 door. Helps on the insurance too.
T_orange Neutral Newbie June 2, 2008 Share June 2, 2008 (edited) If you dun mind the jdm ctr being slightly lighter and better (in terms of technology), go for the dc5r. I think the dc5r still has that unique appeal like the long EOL preludes, CRXs, EG and EK. I ever saw one dc5 painted NSX style. It has that cool factor and the k20a has no shortage of aftermarket parts. Later, if you happen to want to sign for jdm ctr, some of the parts still can bring over (i believe). Rite now, if I were to buy another NA, its prob the jdm ctr. Its new and has 4 doors. Not many people can tell the diff between a real ctr and a fake one. Uncles and aunties will only think that the ctr is just another souped up normal civic, so you still get to keep that grown up image. If you outrun other red eyed people, you also dun need to worry they come and hunt you down cos' so many civics look alike. So_nice 6th Gear June 3, 2008 Share June 3, 2008 voted for dc5..i think the 2 door look is priceless. unless the FD series type R has a jdm model tat looks like ek9. hehe
Route88 2nd Gear June 3, 2008 Share June 3, 2008 hey guys.... which car to pick frm these 2... dc5 will be 2nd hand as it already stopped production vs a new ctr any comments?? How old are you? If u dont mind the hefty insurance,by all means
Nazaki Clutched June 4, 2008 Share June 4, 2008 CTR might be better at performance.. but the DC5 can shadow the CTR when it comes to picking up girls. Girls will look at the integra over the civic even if its a type r. However.. If someone with a fairlady comes around... you lose still.. :) So get a 07 350z. haha. ↡ Advertisement
