Your car definitely got something wrong.

In 5 years, there should have been some major servicing that you must do other than normal servicing.

Have you changed your timing belt, ATF fluid, air filter, clean throttle body, change radiator water, radiator tubes, engine mounting, aircon gas, aircon filter, brake fluid, steering fluid etc?

Better send to a proper mechanic.

FC high nevermind, breakdown and kena accident on the road more dangerous. Safety bro.

Getz Auto tends to drink more petrol.

Car condition, petrol type also plays a part.

Mine is Getz 1.1M. FC is like 14 - 15km/l.

Spare tyre removed but carrying 22kg of ICE.

Go in JB pumped 97 full can last me 350km before I go in pump again.

I ever droven a SFD 1.6A Getz, normal FC was 10. If zhua, become 8.

But not all Hyundai cars are bad. The Avante is giving average 13. And its auto.

Just go gradually and stick to left lane.

my advise if to bring ur car over workshop and have a thorough check up.

my 1.4L auto with aftermarket header, exhaust, intercooler, fuel line, open pod + cold air etc still gives me below 12km/L

Hey bro, my 1.4A only gives me about 11.5 to 12km. I had change only my air filter to simota ss filter. Car to recommend how did you increase your fc?

It does not seem too bad for 1.4A Getz in SG traffic conditions. This is typical of small cap engine paired with auto tranny. Got a fren who owned a auto Getz before also. Feedback is, he's only getting abt 10km/l on NSHW driving within the speed limit. Even the new 1.5A Jazz is returning around 12 km/l only.

Stay stock. The more mods you add, the worse it becomes, even for mods which claim to reduce fuel consumption.

I am driving a MIJ 1.3A sub-tonne hatch and getting 12~13 km/l (in SG and NSHW); best is 15 km/l. Happy to get when it's 14 km/l. Scoot off from traffic lights. [laugh]

It does not help you further that your fuel tank is a small one and need to visit pump every 350-400 km. It just magnify your perception that it is a fuel guzzler. [grouphug]

Interesting... my previous 5yr old Getz 1.3A was returning ard 12.4km/L. And thats a mix of around 60/40 HW/City driving. When up north was able to return 14+km/L

i drove a rented SFD getz 1.3A before, 1st time i drove it, extreme light footed.. but the FC sux.. only abt 9.5 to 10km/l only.. but the second time i drove the car again.. i become more heavy footed and guess wat.. FC became 12.5 to 13km/l.. i think is due to driving style ba.. getting to higher gear faster will help to save petrol.. moderate acceleration not too slow should be ok..

I agreed with you ,too light foot with more drag will effect FC too ,had tried on my previous ride before rev not more than 2k rpm but FC getting more worst ,finally I gave up and drive as normal rev at 2.5k-3k rpm and the FC got better .
