Sometimes they have no courtesy when talking on the phone. Its not like they're unaware theres other people around them; theres no need to shout into the cellphone.

I agree, violence begets violence.

The difference between the guy that bashed the China fella and me is that i can learn to control my anger and let it dissipate in other forms. I guess he needs some anger management therapy.

Supercharged

though his actions was wrong but who can tell one will not react in the same manner if the person has been told to tone it down yet they persist or worse case, tell you off??

do u think with so many eyes staring at them will make them stop?? i can tell u that they will persist.

cos fm my experience, i told 2 china lady off for eating on train platform. all i got was a telling off and the smrt staff at the platform also didn't do anything with them. now i understand why their Gong An behave like a hooligan. cos it takes a hooligan to take down another one.

but still not a valid reason to box ppl Shakehead talk loudly on phone=no culture. box ppl=lagi no culture Scholar

If you read that article carefully, that China man was "talking very loudly to his mother".

Hmmm... that was rather disrespectful to a mother and hence he was taught a lesson. [sly]

Imo Its not abt culture, its abt their habit of doing things in their homeland. If sporean wanna talk abt culture to china pls we need to stand aside and think for awhile, they 5000 yrs history we only 40 plus, what culture can we talk to them. [pirate]

Its their culture or rather practice. But sometimes when a person is sort of a hearing-impaired they tend to talk louder.

Returning to this posting, both were also wrong but I think the person who bashed up the China man is more wrong. Our public tpt system does not enforce such ruling like eating/drinking, even giving up seats for the needy.

I encountered a similar incident in the US on the CALTrain, there was a girl talking quite loudly inside disturbing a fellow passenger who did not even bother to talk to the girl. He straightway went to see a CALTrain employee who is, I believed only a technical crew. Before the train leftthe station, there was a announcement to refrain from talking too loudly inside the train.

The technician approached the lady-in-question. Moments later the lady again talk too loudly. This infuriated the technician that he gave a warning and demanded that she ended the call.

Would our bus company empower the Bus Captain to do that? You remember the AMK Interchange incident? The driver(victim) dare not defended himself because he is wearing a uniform. That is the fear for public outrage if he retaliated.

yeah, you would think that they are quarrelling.

i think we havent heard the man's story at all. since "mother" keep creeping up, maybe chinaman greeted his mother?

it is in our culture to mind your own business; not to tell people off; to suffer in silence or to complain to your own friends instead.

it is also in our culture to take being told off as a loss of face; which can lead to a violent response. in western countries, being told off is quite common; so people usu. take it quite well.
