Booboon 1st Gear May 28, 2008 Share May 28, 2008 Today managed to do some detailing on my ride. So try out this Soft99 wax. Effects not bad, can bring out the warm glow of shine of my 2.5 year car. Wat I did today 1. Wash and shampoo 2. Dry 3. Slap on a thin layer of Soft99 carnauba wax, wait for it to half dry and buff off w MF cloth. Not sure how long the shine can last as I have just slap it on today. Of course my ride cannot compare to Cefiroboy's cefiro kim or Slephygirl's slephy shine, but wat the heck, this pdt is only $12. Avaiable at major petrol station. ↡ Advertisement
Maddriver 4th Gear May 28, 2008 Share May 28, 2008 (edited) Bro BB..You should do a polish before that...At least have a clean surface before it.. Do a simple test.. The next car wash..wash it with you usual shampoo..When rinsing away the shampoo..See if the water still beads.. I am doing this test for quite a while on my DG stuff but using mama lemon and washing powder...Heart pain but no choice..I am testing out exactly how long can they hold.. Beei 1st Gear May 28, 2008 Share May 28, 2008 You mean everytime we wax, must polish first or what?? Is it hard pain or heart pain.. Hard pain is different.. When i am hard, there is no pain..
Booboon 1st Gear May 28, 2008 Author Share May 28, 2008 Bro, the surface is already polished last week 101 followed by 105 over the weekend. I bot this pdt just for the "shine" part. More labourous when compared to spray-on wax but the effect is definely better.
Maddriver 4th Gear May 28, 2008 Share May 28, 2008 It would be best to have a good prep before that..
Beei 1st Gear May 28, 2008 Share May 28, 2008 so if i polish and wax/seal the car one week before, i dont need to polish so soon again right?? my srp after 1.5 year still got half left.. since i am only using wax most of the time..
Maddriver 4th Gear May 28, 2008 Share May 28, 2008 (edited) Then it should be good prep... Yes I agreed with you effort pay off... spray on waxes is good for those owners that hardly have time.. I would say the shine from some spray on waxes are quite comparable to conventional type of waxes.. What makes both different is the feel...You get smooth feel from Spray on wax but you get a warmth kinda of feel from conventional type.. Give it a shot since is $12.. Maddriver 4th Gear May 28, 2008 Share May 28, 2008 Actually many of us get confuse with the word polish..The first thing that came to our mind is "Oh..It is abrasive and they may remove the clear coat if often use" Not really..most AIOs are non abrasive but they are chemically strong in the cleaning part.. Often use does not thin down your clear coat and remember most of us do it manually and not machine.. Some wax makers love to use "polish" and it tends to confuse some of us... Beei 1st Gear May 28, 2008 Share May 28, 2008 It is not the thining down of clear coat, but the burning of my arm muscles which i am concerned.. If i have to polish every week.. i think i will have a muscle ache every monday i start work..
Maddriver 4th Gear May 28, 2008 Share May 28, 2008 haha.. you need not have to really apply alot of pressure when when it..
Booboon 1st Gear May 28, 2008 Author Share May 28, 2008 Just to add on, always use a thin layer for easy removal for any polish for that matter.

Booboon 1st Gear October 5, 2008 Author Share October 5, 2008 Finally finished the can of soft99 carnauba wax. Just to share some info for those who is interested in this product. My verdict for this wax- Ease of use 4/5. Wipe on wipe off easily. Very little dust produced. Much better than the Turtle Wax I m using previously. Buffing off(TW) is a nightmare and it produces so much dust. Shine 3.5/5 Does not really have the wow factor. Pretty glossy. For the shine I would rate it higher than those sythetic sealants that I am using. Durability and protection 3/5. The longest is 3-4 weeks the most. After which water sheeting and beading start to detorirate. I usually rewax every week or so. This product is able to withstand water spot pretty well. Bird bomb also bead up nicely Each can of 170g can last abt 30 application or so on a mid size sedan. $12 for a can, there is nothing to hiam. Ivan96935sg Neutral Newbie October 17, 2008 Share October 17, 2008 Pure carnauba wax seldom lasts long....unless you are taking those synthetic wax which combines a mixture of other ingredients.
