Watwheels Supersonic May 26, 2008 Share May 26, 2008 So what has the rise in GST done to the old & the poor? Got help meh? So many senior citizens seen in hawker centres selling tissue. Got some even more daring ones calling me uncle and asking me for $2 when I was going to buy some things in a neighborhood mama shop. Got one ask me to treat her to coffee cos she's a little short in money while eating at a hawker centre. These old ppl are no founders of sg but they at least have contributed in their younger years. Furthermore unlike a certain individual nobody wants to employ senior citizens.
Shiwao Clutched May 26, 2008 Share May 26, 2008 Ok, my take 1) Food prices went up because mainly the quest for bio-fuel and too many mouth to feed syndrome. 2) Electrical bills went up, same usage pattern, but pay for more money cos EMA thinks natural gas is the way to go. 3) Oil prices went up, so the fundamental thing is here, if oil goes up, every other thing goes up to. What do we have to say? The case of the 2 disaster is China and Myanmar shows 2 things about their govenment. One wayang the way through and the other ba boh doh. Damienic 5th Gear May 26, 2008 Share May 26, 2008 Talk so much abt giving subsidies will ruin singapore...then they go ahead to shower themselves with obscene salary increases with top ministers receving more than 1 million each yr..asking citizens sharing of country wealth is not the way and yet they plundered the national reserves for their own personal enjoyment..is this wat a good govt shld be?? Apollo 1st Gear May 26, 2008 Author Share May 26, 2008 well bad judgment has already ruin singapore anyway. those foreign banks cost us billions. We got CLOBbered billions. SIP and shincorpse cost us billions. guess they r not very qualified when it comes to bad calls... if subsidies is a No, then stop taking so excessively. tat's my call. we dun need to b subsidized but we certainly dun need to create obsence profits for over buldging corporates. Peqasus 1st Gear May 26, 2008 Share May 26, 2008 And where is the dynamic economy? So many Singaporeans no job. it's this thing called statistics. got a letter from MOM requiring me to complete a labor survey. the qns posed are so skewed and there were even mistakes! in the end, i realize i jus added a number to govt's "proof" of see see, our stats shows "a person who's doing well, who's been employed for the last 12 mths yada yada" wasting my time and money for them to gather the ans they want to hear. they should spend more time n resources doing things right, not doing the right things. Silver_z 1st Gear May 26, 2008 Share May 26, 2008 Cannot afford to help Singaporeans lar. They gonna gib US$5m to Myanmar, something I heard over radio this morning.
