Genie47 1st Gear June 4, 2008 Share June 4, 2008 For everyday wear and still maintain an air of luxury, Seiko 5 good enough.
Genie47 1st Gear June 4, 2008 Share June 4, 2008 Panerai's skyrocketing price also due to Sylvester Stallone. He wore one for the movie Daylight.
Genie47 1st Gear June 4, 2008 Share June 4, 2008 The reason why they look fugly os because Citizen is charting their own course in design. They are not ape-ing Seiko anymore. I say good for them making them unique.

Schneider79 Clutched June 4, 2008 Share June 4, 2008 Where you get to read about the watches' movement ? And how you know which batch comes with which movement and how you know that particular movement is good or bad?
Dymatize 1st Gear June 4, 2008 Share June 4, 2008 so in ur opinion, which watch in the $5k to $10k class is worth the money? and how would you arrive at whether a watch is worth this amount? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- for 5 - 10k, look at zenith and entry class Jaeger Lecoultre, which house much better movements than most watches in this range. personally, i look at a few factors to determine if a watch is worth the money, the most important is the movement. there are Jaeger Le Coults for <10k?? Do you have any recommendations pls

Damienic 5th Gear June 4, 2008 Share June 4, 2008 naza... if u thinking of getting the panerai... follow ur heart... its a great watch to have and its jus so nice... i used to have the pam112 base and the pam111 marina... end up selling them for a small profit and settled for a sea-dweller now... now panerai pricing is getting a bit off hand with its base pam112 model costing ard 5.8k last time i get only 4.4k for the pam111 and 4k for the pam112... actually panerai is a very simple watch... that why i love it... the reason why i sold them is when i saw a replica pam112 looking totally same as the real one... cos the design and movement is so simple that it can be reproduce at relative ease... for the price i sell... i can get a SD... so i went for a SD instead... loving it... u can try http://www.paneristi.com/ there u see some singapore seller like william loi... price quite reasonable http://www.panerai.com/s_page.xpd?id_lingu...id_categoria=39 anyone knows how much roughly the silver one on the right cost? Genie47 1st Gear June 4, 2008 Share June 4, 2008 (edited) Actually each movement got certain characteristics and it is not about good or bad. The day-date function, GMT and all that require different geared movements. Actually, quartz watches are superior in every aspect including cost. These geared movement watches are the relics of the past and they offer a novelty that the Swiss makers capitalized on to upmarket their products. Its like comparing pushrod engines with DOHC engines. Of course DOHC is superior but in the US and Australia, pushrod SOHC are everywhere and parts are cheap even though DOHC engines are superior in weight, power etc. Of course if you drive a pushrod 5.7L creature that pumps out the same horses as a puny IL4 DOHC, the pushrod car looks longer, bigger and more impressive even though weight for weight in performance and advances in engine technology, the DOHC is superior in every aspect. Edison Neutral Newbie September 21, 2008 Share September 21, 2008 Sorry to ot a bit, i been eyeing this Jaeger master world geographic for abt 2 months, i like the complication, with the pwr reserve etc but the ting is now i find the extreme world chronograph looks even nicer on my wrist though i think it was ridiculously big (46.3mm) before. All because after having started wearing my 1st watch : Panerai lately. Haha Which one would u guys get or more worth the money. How about Girard Perregaux ? Seems like this brand not that popular in sg? http://www.prestigetime.com/item.php?item_id=5639 http://www.prestigetime.com/item.php?item_id=6268 http://www.prestigetime.com/item.php?item_id=8051

Clubace Clutched October 14, 2008 Share October 14, 2008 You should check out PMWC. He has lots of affordable watches. He even has China brand Double Rhomb. His collection pretty good. I read a review on a china brand watch. Its internal gears looks horrible. Totally unpolished and dirty. ↡ Advertisement
