Most probably will move out around 4~5am. I do like to clear carbon but how is the condition on route 3 with regards to pot-holes.

 

I travel with my family - total 4 (two boys 12 and 8yrs). BTW my stock lancer can't run very fast also --

 

I'm planning to do a round trip up and down but will not go beyond Ipoh -- from any time 13th ~ 21st. Cheers

It should be sustained 3/4 of top speed or 3/4 rev limit and above.

Just got back from Malacca. Chose Route 5 on the way up but that was a huge mistake, not so much the pothole, but the traffic condition.

 

Route 3 should be ok too - unless you have ultra low profile tires and soft rims.

 

My wife wasn't too happy after this trip because I cleared too much carbon on the way back, so I'm not sure if the 2nd trip in June is going to materialise.

Just got reply from asiatravel, managed to get family package at Swiss Garden Kuantan. Will be 2 nights at Kuantan and 2 nights at Cameron Highland.

careful on route 3, the "monkey" stretch after mersing, leftmost lane still has potholes! I had to drive half of my car onto the oncoming traffic lane for around 150m to avoid them.

 

damn, those potholes were there last October!!!

Thanks for the advance warning. Were those potholes part of the jagged edges that extended from the side of the road, or they were just holes? and how deep by your estimate?

 

The "monkey" stretch is full of bends, so these potholes can really take us by surprise if our velocity allows for little reaction time. Worse, if it's a pre-dawn run.
