Fridge not cold

My current LG 2 door fridge is about 3 years old. The frozen side is currently not cold even though set at cold.

Is it due to the gas inside the compressor has finished or other faults?

Any contact to repair it and how much roughly?

Most likely its the heater spoilt. Check on the freezer side if there is any ice formation on the wall of the fridge.

Shouldn't have any problems unless the door cannot be properly closed due to the rubber insulation. If not, most likely it's the compressor.

I've checked but no signs of water at the sides.

Is it true there's a need to top up gas?

hardly heard of fridge need to top up gas.

 

used ACMA, Mitsu, fisher paykel before all never needed to top up gas even when i changed them out.

Not water, its ice. If you remember the old days fridge where you have ice accum at the freezer where we make ice cubes. There is a heater hiding behind. When this heater is spoilt, then ice will form.

You mean those fins or heatsink strips at the back of the fridge right?

Inside the fridge, in the freezer compartments. Remove the container if you cannot see, the inside walls of the fridge. It should be clear of any ice formation. When there is ice formation, which would likely be the heater spoilt, it sort of a clog up and it hinder the cold air flow.

Top up gas - $20?

yup yup. that's the same problem i had. ice formed in the air passage. My pana fridge no heater. repairman says the compressor hot enough to evaporate the water. just try not to block those outlets in the compartments that will restrict airflow.

Cost me about 170 to repair.
