The wonderfully long and fast 8 lane (4 both ways)jurong buloh was closed off except for one lane on each side of the road this morning as there was a fatal accident. Trailer head without trailer was smashed in the front across the central lane divider. A pickup it crashed into was totaled with a dead person covered lying across 2 lanes. Human body parts was seen along a 20meter stretch of road. [shakehead][shakehead][shakehead]

Its time for TP to do something with these trailer guys...

Time for LTA and TP to harsh measures against all these heavy vehicles, mini lorries/buses/vans before more innocent drivers die on the roads. [shakehead] Most of these drivers nowadays are reckless.. [rifle]

Went past the accident area around 8. Got crane to lift up the container and the trailer (which i tink toppled over). Front cabin of the truck was smashed, and saw a tent covering the body... but i tink i saw fingers at the end of it... [:/] Didn't notice the body parts cos was already late for work liao. Also saw the police taking pictures of the accident.

This is like the 3rd or 4th accident (involving trailers / container trucks) for this month... Dangerous.

They are so busy with the study on the seat belts in small buses, where got time for these nitty gritty [sweatdrop]

West Coast Highway very dangerous also, the big truckers drive with no lane discipline at all. There was once when 2 jokers drove side by side, chitchatting I supposed.

Had to high beam them from 1st lane before passing through [sweatdrop][sweatdrop]

I used to zoom there to work every morning but now switched to AYE ... [nod][nod][nod]

That side really is 2F2F for all sort of vehicles [gossip][gossip][gossip]

most of time you can actually see these heavy vehicles going way above the speed limit hogging the secong lane in a 4 lane expressway. driving dangerously, doing high speed cornering...

i say tp should clam em down..

I believe a lot of these drivers of heavy vehicles are foreign nationals (FN) since Singaporeans do not like such jobs that entail long hours on the road and also queuing up at container bays at destination. Also, the cost of hiring these FN is cheaper and makes more business sense.

As such, the FNs bring their own driving style and culture from their countries to our roads, to great disaster at times.

Do these drivers have to pass our local driving test or do they just have to do a licence conversion? If it is so simple, then it is not fair to the local Singaporeans who have gone through the stringent theory and practical driving lessons.

I agree that something needs to be done about such errant driving as the number of cases involving such vehicles seem to be on an uptrend.

many many occasions those passengers filled lorries (cabstars type) and buses with workers, all speeding well above 100km/h on a 70km/h road (jalan buroh)

many of these lorry drivers are your FT labourers with farking P plate summore

they just cut into your lane without signalling...and they will even cut in even with half car length space..they just don't care about other road users...

WHAT IS THE TP DOING????

slow and heavy vehicles occupying all but the right most lane is nothing new.

these vehicles being driven at speeds at more than 70km/h is also nothing new.

don't bother waiting for, or expecting the LTA or TP to do anything.

just be more alert when you're on the roads.
